Lautner’s wife cried over wedding privacy breach

invasion of – Taylor Lautner’s wife says a paparazzi “long lens” camera at their 2022 wedding left her “scarred” and in tears, shaping how she and her husband approach keeping their pregnancy private. She also describes anxiety during OB/GYN visits and rapid weight gain tie

When she looks back at her 2022 wedding, Taylor Lautner’s wife doesn’t remember just the vows—she remembers the feeling of being watched.

In a June 17 appearance on Matt and Abby Howard’s “Unplanned Podcast,” Tay Lautner said an “invasion of privacy” triggered tears after someone used a camera with a “really long lens” to capture photos of the couple’s first look and posted them the day after the wedding.

“I think I was just a little scarred cuz our wedding, there was someone that had a really long lens camera and took photos of our first look and posted them the day after our wedding,” she said. “I know. I cried. It was rough.”

She described the moment as the first time it truly felt invasive. “That was not a fun thing for me. mainly cuz that was the first time it really felt like an invasion of privacy for me. …. But our wedding, that like really just felt icky. It just did not feel good. So, I think that kind of just put a bad taste in my mouth,” she added.

That experience, she said, is part of why she and her husband have tried to keep details about their first child away from the public eye—even as their family prepares for the announcement they made in March 2026.

The couple wed in 2022, five years after meeting at a game night hosted by the “Twilight” actor. The Lautners announced they were expecting their first child in March 2026, and Tay said she is “a little past halfway” in her pregnancy, with more time before her due date.

On the podcast. Tay also framed the pregnancy as a period where she’s actively learned how quickly a private struggle can become public. “Every time, after this, every time I open my mouth, an article pops up. And that’s something that I’m really learning during this pregnancy is every time I even just say. like ‘I’m struggling with something. ‘ there’s a bunch of articles that pop up. So, it’s made me want to really protect my pregnancy and everything around it,” she said.

Even so, she said she’s “more than happy” to talk about her own experience—especially how she is feeling—while staying selective about anything that could be treated as “baby-specific” information.

She said she suspected people might figure out the pregnancy before she was ready, particularly during medical visits. Tay described feeling nervous going to her OB/GYN appointments, and she said that anxiety intensified because Taylor Lautner accompanied her to “every appointment.”

“Definitely, every time I would like go to my OB’s office or go to an urgent care or something, I definitely would get nervous. I mean, especially going to my OB, cuz Taylor has come with me to every appointment,” Tay said.

In those spaces, she said the attention was obvious. “People in the waiting room would be like, ‘Oh, why are they both going in there?’ Like that definitely concerned me. And I also put on a lot of weight, I think, quicker than I was expecting,” she added.

Tay, 29, also revealed she suffers from emetophobia, the fear of vomit or vomiting. She said she tried to manage the nausea she experienced during the first trimester by eating, and that approach came with an unexpected physical consequence.

“As a result, she gained between 12 and 15 pounds in two and a half weeks,” according to her account on the show.

“So, I had put on weight, and you could like guess, I was like, my family was like not surprised I was pregnant because like you could tell because I had gained weight,” she said. “I was scared that people were going to like figure it out when I was going into my OB appointments.”

  1. So wait the day after the wedding they posted the first look pics? That’s messed up, but like… weddings get photographed anyway lol. Still, I get why she’d be anxious.

  2. I don’t think this is about privacy as much as it is about people being bored. If she didn’t want cameras there, why have a public wedding at all? Also the OB/GYN stuff sounds like a separate issue.

  3. “Scarred” and “in tears” over a wedding photo is wild to me, but I guess I can see the anxiety part. Like was the paparazzi actually inside the venue or just near? They always say “invasion of privacy” but then celebrities still announce pregnancies with dates, so it feels kinda mixed. Either way, long lens or not, posting the day after is shady.
