Kevin and I are stupidly romantic people who like twee pop so that combination alone was a recipe for a cheeky ‘main character’ song. We really leaned into the overzealous lyrics here because 1) we’re allowed. 2) can do whatever we want and 3) it’s fun 🙂 yay!”.

All of this lands at once—album announcements. lead singles. EPs. final records. soundtracks—so the story of today isn’t just “new music.” It’s the way artists frame their own momentum in real time: a first vocal return after a long gap. a final studio chapter tied to New York. and songs described as messages. love letters. and breakthroughs. In a single day. you can hear multiple answers to the same question: what does a record begin as—an idea. a mood. a fight. a letter. or a memory returning?.
Interpol Ty Segall Chat Pile Soft Cell Wishy Penelope Isles Elanor Moss mary in the junkyard Harmony Tividad Bonobo Show Me the Body The Menzingers Shearwater Orla Gartland Black Duck Elena Setién new music album announcements
So Soft Cell is retiring from music?? Kinda wild.
I didn’t even read it, but Interpol dropping two tracks same day sounds like a scam lol. Like how are they not tired.
Wait “Danceteria” is a farewell? I thought Danceteria was that old NYC club thing, not a song title. Maybe I’m mixing it up but the video with Vicki Bennett sounds random as hell. Also Chat Pile “Deep Blue”?? blue like the blues genre or just… blue lighting?
June 9th 2026 doesn’t even seem real, like who decided that date is the same day for Interpol, Ty Segall, and all the others. Probably just marketing because people are bored. I saw Ty Segall and assumed it was like a re-release of something. Anyway my playlist is already full so I’ll “listen later” forever.
