Vikings hire Nolan Teasley as new general manager

Vikings hire – The Minnesota Vikings are set to make Nolan Teasley their next general manager, hiring him from the Seattle Seahawks. The move would replace Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who was fired on Jan. 30, and comes as Minnesota tries to solve its quarterback future after a 9-8

The Vikings’ next front-office chapter is starting to take shape, with one name already emerging as the answer to their general manager opening: Nolan Teasley.

Minnesota is hiring Seattle Seahawks assistant general manager Nolan Teasley to serve as its new general manager. NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reported. The deal would make Teasley the full-time replacement for Kwesi Adofo Mensah, who was fired Jan. 30 after four seasons as Minnesota’s general manager. Longtime Vikings cap analyst Rob Brzezinski. who has been with the organization since 1999. has been serving as the team’s interim general manager since Adofo-Mensah’s dismissal.

The Vikings have not yet officially announced Teasley’s hiring, and the team has not clarified what happens next with Brzezinski or the rest of Minnesota’s front-office staff.

Teasley’s path to this job has been built almost entirely inside Seattle’s football operations structure. He has worked for the Seahawks since 2013 and won two Super Bowls with the team, including Super Bowl 60. He began with Seattle as an intern in the scouting department and later became a running back at Central Washington University. After that. he pursued the NFL by writing letters to all 32 teams following a six-year marketing career and eventually landed a single interview with general manager John Schneider. a step that helped launch his Seahawks run. according to Pelissero.

Progress came quickly once he was in the building. He was promoted to pro personnel scout in 2014. moved up to assistant director of pro personnel in 2017. and was promoted to director of pro personnel the following season. In 2023, he was elevated into the assistant general manager role, working closely with Schneider as Seattle built its roster.

The Seahawks’ official website describes the scope of Teasley’s responsibilities in a way that matches the expectation that Minnesota is placing him at the center of football decisions. “Teasley oversees football operations while working collaboratively with President of Football Operations/General Manager John Schneider in all aspects of player acquisition via the draft. free agency and trade proposals. ” the Seahawks website says.

This is also not just a job change—it’s a milestone within the league. Teasley was recently one of 18 NFL executives invited to participate in the league’s accelerator program for 2026, and he is expected to be the first of those executives to land a full-time general manager job at the NFL level.

For Minnesota, the timing carries extra weight. Teasley inherits a Vikings team coming off a 9-8 season and still searching for clarity at quarterback. During the offseason, Minnesota signed Kyler Murray to compete with 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy. The roster reshaping wasn’t limited to the position group: the Vikings also shed the salaries of high-cost veterans like Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave.

The story the Vikings are now chasing is straightforward: Teasley’s background points to a major emphasis on player acquisition through multiple channels—draft. free agency. and trades—while the roster he’s stepping into reflects urgency around the quarterback position and the financial flexibility required to keep building.
