Weezer’s The – Weezer’s next self-titled-era album, The Gold Album, lands August 21 via Reprise/Warner, with a Wednesday collaboration and a tour launching in September. The band also pairs Rivers Cuomo with drummer Pat Wilson on a long-awaited first co-write since their deb

A gold record, a Wednesday cameo, and a tour that’s already locked in for September—Weezer is pulling the trigger on what looks like a very deliberate next chapter.

The Gold Album, Weezer’s next full-length release, is set to arrive August 21 via Reprise/Warner. It’s the band’s first LP since 2021’s Van Weezer and OK Human. and it follows the subsequent Sznz EP series. The timing matters. too: this release isn’t just another entry in their ongoing output—it ties directly to the next run of shows the band announced back in March. now revealed to be pegged to the album.

On the songs, the headline is a crossover fans will feel instantly. The lead single is a duet between Rivers Cuomo and Wednesday’s Karly Hartzman. Weezer has also put out Jasper Graham’s video for “We Might as Well Be Strangers” [ft. Wednesday]. That “Wednesday” connection doesn’t show up as a one-off flourish. It’s built into the project’s center of gravity.

There’s also something fresh for the band itself. Weezer includes Rivers Cuomo’s first co-write with drummer Pat Wilson since the band’s debut. For long-time listeners. that detail lands like an overdue reunion of creative roles—two voices that have always shaped the sound. now sharing writing space again in a way they haven’t since the beginning.

The album’s production is another piece of the story. The Gold Album was produced by Klas Åhlund and Kenneth Blume, the producer formerly known as Kenny Beats. In a press release, Kenneth Blume says he wanted to make “the most violent Weezer album ever.”

That “color” thread remains, too. The Gold Album follows Weezer’s long-running color concept, which has unfolded, in reverse-chronological order, with Black, Teal, White, Red, Green, and a debut now preserved in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry: The Blue Album.

Before the album fully lands, the tour gives fans a runway. Weezer: The Gathering kicks off in September, with support from the Shins and Silversun Pickups.

The tracklist turns the concept into something you can hold:
01 Say Yes
02 Shine Again
03 Don’t Make It Weird
04 We Might as Well Be Strangers [ft. Wednesday]
05 C.E.O.
06 Hoops
07 Nowhere
08 The Show Must Go On
09 Up in the Clouds
10 The LA Sound

From the August 21 release date to the September shows. Weezer has arranged the rollout so the collaborations. songwriting changes. and production intent all point in the same direction. The band is moving fast—and this time, the story isn’t only about what they’re releasing. It’s about how hard they’re aiming to make it hit.
