Alyson Hannigan Calls Anthony Head’s Death “So Deep”

Alyson Hannigan paid tribute to her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Anthony Head after his death at age 72, writing on Instagram that “this cut is so deep I fear it can never heal.”
Alyson Hannigan didn’t wait long to mark the loss of Anthony Head.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star, 72-year-old actor Anthony Head, died suddenly, with his daughters, Emily and Daisy Head, confirming the news on Friday. They said he passed away from “complications due to pneumonia.”
On Saturday, Hannigan turned to Instagram with a throwback photo of herself and Head. In her caption, she wrote: “This cut is so deep I fear it can never heal. Oh Tonal…I am so grateful to have had you in my life!. I want to say a million wonderful things about you and yet I can’t seem to find the words that would do you justice. I love you so much and will miss you forever. RIP”.
Head’s death immediately pulled in the rest of the “Buffy” circle. Sarah Michelle Gellar responded in the comments with: “He loved you so dearly Aly.”
For the cast and fans, the timing landed hard. This has been a painful stretch for the Buffy family. with losses already felt in recent years. including Michelle Trachtenberg and Nicholas Brendon—and now Anthony Head. During this difficult time. Hannigan and Gellar’s words reflected the same thing: grief that doesn’t move quickly. and a bond that keeps showing up when it matters most.

So sad. pneumonia is scary.
Wait he died from pneumonia complications?? I thought Anthony Head was like way younger? Idk how old people are supposed to be in Hollywood, it all blends together lol. Anyway RIP, Buffy was one of my things.
Alyson’s caption sounds dramatic but in a real way, like she actually means it. Also “Tonal”… who/what is that? Is that a nickname or some character? I’m confused but still just heartbreaking about the pneumonia stuff.
This feels extra cruel because Buffy already lost people recently right? I saw Nicholas Brendon and Michelle Trachtenberg mentioned and I’m like ok so what’s going on, is it health stuff or just bad luck. Then again, when they say “complications” it could mean anything, so I guess we’ll never really know. Either way, the cast really does feel like a family, I guess.
