‘The View’ host warns Trump Latino voters: regret

Ana Navarro told The View audience she “warned” Latino Trump voters, pointing to new poll results showing growing “buyer’s remorse” and tying the shift to the economy, gas prices, and immigration enforcement. She singled out a policy requiring some green card

Ana Navarro didn’t soften the message when the numbers came in. On The View’s “Behind the Table” podcast, the cohost reacted to new poll findings showing growing “buyer’s remorse” among Latino voters who backed President Donald Trump during his 2024 presidential run.

Her delivery was blunt, and personal. “I wish I knew how to say ‘I told you so’ in Spanish,” Navarro said. “Actually, I do. Te lo dije!”

Then she laid out the warning she says she tried to deliver early—about who she believed Trump would affect. “I told you all that he was coming for your tías and your abuelas and your friends and your colleagues and the children in the school,” she added.

The poll data she referenced comes from an UnidosUS survey of 3,000 Latino voters across 32 competitive congressional districts. The results. highlighted in a report published on Wednesday. May 27. found that one in four Hispanic voters who backed Trump in 2024 now say they would not vote for him again if given the opportunity.

Navarro framed that shift as politically significant, because Latino voters played a major role in Trump’s 2024 victory. The change is measurable too: the Pew Research Center found Trump captured 48% of the Latino vote in 2024—up from his 2020 performance.

Axios described the UnidosUS survey as a warning sign for Republicans defending Latino-heavy battleground districts in the 2026 midterms, writing that the erosion of Latino support—along with dissatisfaction with the economy—signals danger for competitive GOP-held seats.

For Navarro, the disappointment is not just about politics. She said the biggest driver is the cost of living. “The primary reason that he’s losing Latino support — and Trump made great inroads with. particularly. Latino men and Black men. as well — is the economy. ” she said. “Because, like everybody else, they’re having to pay so much money and just can’t afford things.”.

Her comments land on a specific set of pressures that have grown sharper over time. Inflation and savings have worsened since last year, with disposable income savings rates dropping to 2.6% in 2026 from 5.5% in March 2025. Gas prices have also surged: the national average has climbed to $4.40 per gallon—more than a dollar higher than this time last year—amid Trump’s war with Iran.

Trump has argued that prices will fall once a deal is reached to end the conflict, but the polling Navarro pointed to suggests mounting frustration among Latino voters. His disapproval rating among that group has reached 67%.

Immigration, she said, is the second reason for the shift—and she criticized how enforcement has been carried out. “The second reason is immigration, right?. The way immigration enforcement has been carried out,” Navarro said. “And if you notice, the Trump administration is trying very hard to get immigration out of the headlines.”.

She also pointed to a recent policy that, in her view, treats legal residents’ families cruelly. Navarro criticized a new Trump administration policy requiring some green card applicants to return to their home countries to complete the process. “What they did this week. ordering that people who qualify for a legal permanent residency can’t adjust their status in-country and have to go back to their country — that is cruel. ” she said. “That means family separation. That means suffering.”.

  1. I don’t really get why she’s saying “te lo dije” like that solves anything. People’s votes can change because gas is high and stuff, not because someone cursed their tias 😕

  2. Wait is this about green cards or like housing? I saw “regret” and figured it was one of those immigration bills that got watered down or not. Honestly the economy changes every month, so polls are just vibes. Also “buyer’s remorse” sounds like they’re talking about a car lol.

  3. I swear these pundits always talk like they predicted everything. She says she warned Latino voters but half the time they don’t even listen until after the election. If gas and immigration enforcement were the reason, then blaming the voters is kinda weird. And UnidosUS is like… not neutral, so the poll being a “warning sign” for GOP seats is probably expected. Either way, one in four is still a lot.
