Taylor Swift’s reported wedding invites spark New York buzz

With Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding reportedly set for Friday, July 3, at Madison Square Garden, New York has been filling up with familiar faces. From Ed Sheeran and Sabrina Carpenter to Selena Gomez, Suki Waterhouse, George Kittle, and Phoebe Waller

New York looks different outside Madison Square Garden when a rumor turns into a deadline.

In recent days. celebrities with close ties to Taylor Swift have been spotted around the city—suggesting they may be in town for the pop star’s highly anticipated wedding to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The reported plan is a celebration on Friday. July 3. at Madison Square Garden. though most details about the ceremony remain unconfirmed.

Even the guest list, which has become its own kind of public countdown, is not verified. Still. a pattern has emerged: familiar friends and collaborators appear to be moving through the same restaurants and entertainment circles. as the city’s attention tightens around what could be one of the biggest celeb events of the year.

One name that stands out is Ed Sheeran. He is “evidently in New York already.” On June 30, a restaurant owner in upstate New York shared a photo of the “Shape of You” singer and said he and Swift’s friend and collaborator Aaron Dessner had stopped by.

Sabrina Carpenter—also a friend and collaborator of Swift—was reportedly spotted out at a restaurant in New York City ahead of the wedding, according to a video shared on X.

Other arrivals have been tied to entertainment schedules. Talk show host Graham Norton and “Fleabag” star Phoebe Waller-Bridge have both been seen arriving in New York. according to the BBC. Waller-Bridge has previously grabbed dinner with Swift. and when Swift was a guest on “The Graham Norton Show” last year. she promised Norton a wedding invite. “I was gonna invite you to it,” Swift told Norton, who also appeared in her music video for “Opalite.”.

Among the other stars who are considered likely attendees are Swift’s close friends Selena Gomez and the Haim sisters.

Still, not everyone in this orbit is purely rumor. A handful have explicitly said they’re going.

Suki Waterhouse, for example, told Variety in May, “I’m gonna go to Taylor’s wedding,” adding that it might give her “some inspiration for her own.” Waterhouse is engaged to Robert Pattinson, and she has been photographed in New York this week.

George Kittle, a San Francisco 49ers tight end, also said he snagged an invite. In comments to Entertainment Tonight, he said, “I’m wearing a blue suit.” He then told ExtraTV that the couple has told guests there is to be “absolutely no gifts.”

Swift, for her part, has signaled she doesn’t intend to micromanage access to the guest list. In her 2025 appearance on the “Graham Norton Show. ” she said planning the wedding would be fun because “the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount of” guests and “people are on the bubble. and you have to evaluate or access your relationship with them to see if they should be there.”.

“I’m not going to do that,” she quipped, joking that “anyone I’ve ever talked to” is invited.

Even without official confirmation. the details that are circulating—arrivals. restaurant visits. and a clear mix of longtime collaborators and publicly confirmed guests—keep pointing to the same reality on the ground: the people who have been closest to Swift’s life and work are showing up right when the countdown is supposed to begin.
