Taylor Swift walked into Madison Square Garden with a clear mission on Wednesday night: watch the Knicks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, and do it from courtside.

The pop megastar was joined at MSG by sisters Alana and Este Haim. the two thirds of the pop-rock band HAIM. who took up courtside seats next to her. Her fiance, Travis Kelce, wasn’t there. He was unable to travel to New York because he’s in the middle of a mandatory three-day minicamp with the Kansas City Chiefs as preparation for the 2026 NFL season.

For Swift, it’s a “girls’ night at the Garden” while the stakes on the court keep rising. New York is trying to avoid a second straight playoff defeat and move within one win of the NBA Championship against the San Antonio Spurs. The series picture is tight: the Knicks stormed to a 2-0 lead after winning the first two road games in San Antonio. before the Spurs responded on Monday night in New York City to cut the deficit to 2-1.

The venue matters, even when the focus is basketball. An insider previously told Daily Mail that Swift and Kelce are set to marry at MSG on July 3. after the couple decided to “embrace the spectacle” of a giant wedding. Before settling on MSG. the same source said Taylor and Travis were considering Casa Cipriani in Manhattan’s Financial District as a potential venue. MSG. the report adds. can accommodate up to 22. 000 people—though it’s unclear how many guests will be invited for the wedding.

Swift’s Knicks loyalty is already well-established. She has lived in New York for a number of years and. in the last round of the NBA playoffs. she joined Kelce courtside when the Cleveland Cavaliers took on the Knicks last month. That night. New Yorkers criticized her for appearing to root against her favorite team. but Wednesday’s circumstances are different—and the expectation is that she’ll be firmly on New York’s side for the crucial clash with the Spurs.

Off the court, celebrity row at MSG includes a mix of longtime fans and big names. Swift will share courtside attention with die-hard Knicks supporters Timothee Chalamet, Ben Stiller and Spike Lee.

If there’s one potential awkwardness Swift won’t have to manage, it’s Donald Trump. The president opted to skip Game 4, after his controversial appearance on Monday night. Trump was booed when he was shown on the jumbotron during the national anthem. and his presence had meant the secret service shut down streets around the arena to accommodate security procedures. Fans were also told to arrive hours before the game and line up around the streets in blazing sunshine to go through airport-style security under secret service watch.

Trump and Swift have crossed paths before. Both attended the Super Bowl in New Orleans in February 2025, when the Philadelphia Eagles beat Kelce’s Chiefs 40-22. On that day, Swift was booed by parts of the stadium occupied by Eagles fans. After the game. Trump mocked her on Truth Social. writing: “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”.

Back to Wednesday’s basketball reality: a ticket to MSG for Game 4 has become the hottest in town. As of Wednesday afternoon, the cheapest tickets were being sold for around $4,000 as the Knicks chase their first championship since 1973.

  1. Girls night at the Garden sounds cute but also it’s the finals… hope the Knicks can handle it without the distractions. The article says he couldn’t travel because of minicamp, so I guess that’s legit. Still weird how everything ends up being about famous people lol

  2. Daily Mail said they’re getting married at MSG July 3 like that’s even real 😂 MSG feels like where you watch a game not a wedding. Also why would they pick the same place right in the middle of playoffs? I mean maybe they’ll do it after Game 4 or whatever

  3. I don’t get why they keep dragging Knicks vs Spurs into her private wedding plans. Like Taylor there courtside doesn’t mean they’re gonna win. And it says MSG can fit 22,000 but it’s unclear how many… okay? Also “mandatory minicamp” sounds like he just chose not to go to New York, because athletes always have excuses I guess
