On May 21, Starbucks isn’t just asking customers to sip something new. The company is betting on what comes after the first drink: movement.

Starbucks is launching a limited-edition Starbucks Weighted Vest, built in partnership with fashion and lifestyle designer Kahlana Barfield Brown, the founder of KBB by Kahlana. The vest is designed to match the brand’s newest ready-to-drink beverage, Starbucks Coffee & Protein.

The move places a familiar coffee brand into fitness gear—complete with resistance weights and a dedicated place to carry the drink—while tying the experience to a broader wave of interest in weighted vests seen across social media.

The weighted vest is inspired by that growing online trend. and Starbucks says the design is meant to blend movement and style. The company describes the vest as having a custom silhouette. including 5 pounds of customizable weights for resistance training and a dedicated pocket built to hold a ready-to-drink Starbucks Coffee & Protein beverage.

Starbucks says the vest will cost $22—an amount it connects directly to the 22 grams of complete protein included in each bottle of Starbucks Coffee & Protein.

The company set the sales timing tightly. The limited-edition vest becomes available May 21 at 3 p.m. ET through the KBB website while supplies last.

The drink itself is positioned as a nutrition-forward alternative for people on the move. Starbucks Coffee & Protein contains 22 grams of complete protein, 5 grams of prebiotic fiber, 5 vitamins and minerals, and 2 grams of sugar. Starbucks said the bottled beverage combines Starbucks coffee with added nutritional benefits in a ready-to-drink format.

Starbucks is pairing the vest drop with an additional way to earn it. The company has also partnered with Strava on a fitness challenge tied to the launch of its new Coffee & Protein beverage and weighted vest.

From May 21 through June 18. new and existing Strava users can take part in the Starbucks Coffee & Protein Level Up Strava Challenge by walking or running for 22 minutes a day for at least 10 days. Participants who opt in through the Strava app and complete the challenge are entered for a chance to win a limited-edition Starbucks Weighted Vest.

Under the official rules, no purchase is necessary to enter. The sweepstakes is open to residents of the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., who are 18 or older. To enter, visitors are directed to starbucksproteinlevelup.com.

The sequence of details makes the company’s pitch clear: the vest, the drink, and the Strava challenge all point back to the same promise—22 minutes a day, 22 grams of complete protein, and a piece of gear customers can wear while they train.
