For students across Florida, the last day of school falls at different times based on each district’s calendar—ranging in South Florida from May 29 in Palm Beach and Monroe counties to June 4 for Miami-Dade.
The final school day is almost here for families across South Florida, but the date won’t be the same everywhere. In some districts, students will wrap up classes this week; in others, the last bell stretches into next week.
Miami-Dade County’s public schools will end the 2025–2026 school year on June 4. Broward County students finish on June 3. In Palm Beach and Monroe counties, the last day of school is May 29.
District calendars vary across the state, with each school system setting its own end date for the fourth-quarter grading period. In Florida right now, June 4 is the latest end date among any county.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools began the 2025–2026 school year on Aug. 14 and will end on June 4.
Broward County Public Schools began the 2025–2026 school year on Aug. 11 and will end on June 3.
The Palm Beach County School District began the 2025–2026 school year on Aug. 11 and will end on May 29.
The Monroe County School District began the 2025–2026 school year on Aug. 13 and will end on May 29.
Outside South Florida, the end dates continue to differ county by county. Some districts are set to finish as early as May 21, including Madison and Leon counties. Others run later into early June, such as St. Lucie County and Sumter County, which are both listed with a last day of June 2.
Analytically. the state list shows one clear divide: South Florida’s end dates cluster tightly. but the difference between May 29 and June 4 still matters for family schedules. childcare planning. and the timing of summer transitions. It also means the “last day of school” headline can land on different days depending on where you live—sometimes by nearly a full week.
The full statewide calendar list includes. among others: Alachua on June 2; Alachua on June 2; Bay County on May 28; Brevard County on May 27; Charlotte County on May 29; Duval County on May 28; Escambia County on May 22; Flagler County on May 28; Franklin County on May 28; and Gadsden County on May 22.
Other counties listed with earlier dates include Highlands and Hendry counties on May 22; Holmes County on May 29; Jefferson County on May 22; Lafayette County on May 22; and Lee County on June 1.
The list also places more South and Central Florida districts in the May 27-to-May 29 window, including Collier, Citrus, Clay, and others on May 29; Broward on June 3; and Palm Beach on May 29.
