Snoop Dogg and Shante Broadus Fire Back at Dance Critics

Shante Broadus posted an Instagram dance video on June 12 that drew heavy debate over the choreography and whether it was “appropriate.” In the comments, she clapped back repeatedly about her independence, while Snoop Dogg—posting supportive fire-and-heart emo
Shante Broadus didn’t just post a dance video—she invited the internet into the room with her, and the room got loud.
On Friday. June 12. the 54-year-old shared a clip to her Instagram account showing herself dancing with an apparent male partner to DaBaby’s song. In her caption. she wrote. “Pop Dat Thang 🤣🤣#BossLadyEntertainment.” The routine begins with the man holding her waist from behind as she slightly bends over and moves her hips. before they switch into coordinated moves with more space between them.
Almost immediately, comments turned into a debate about the choreography and whether it crossed a line—especially because Shante’s husband, Snoop Dogg, is often mentioned whenever she posts anything outside the box.
In the comment section. more than 700 reactions poured in. with multiple people bringing up Snoop Dogg and asking whether he approved. @black_entrepreneur wrote, “Nahh @snoopdogg be living in the same world 🌎 with @willsmith you can’t tell me other wise !!. She’s totally projecting rubbing it on our face .. modern day wifey not good for them kids and grandkids… (DEMMM SHAME).” Shante responded, “You Still Watching 💙💙 Thank You.”.
Other commenters framed the issue as Snoop Dogg’s approval—or lack of it. @1stlady_tam said, “If Snoop is OK with it then hey, do your thang.” Shante fired back with a blunt reminder of her own autonomy: “Why Does Snoop Have To Be Ok With It? I’m 50 Years Old Snoop My Husband Not My Controller.”
When @evan.sdenola asked, “Did Snoop approve of this,” Shante answered with sarcasm: “No. I Put It On Social Media And Blocked Him.”
Some critics also seemed to misunderstand the point of her page. @maghrabb wrote, “WTF unfollow,” and Shante replied with two laughing and two peace sign emotions.
Not everyone came to argue. @royal_smith20 said, “I love it. It’s a blessing to be able to move the older we get.” Shante replied. “You Have To Move It So You Don’t Lose It.” @queenjamellah added. “Wtf do Snoop have to do with Boss Lady staying in shape?. Yall over-sexualize everything. It’s a million “sexy” dances that doesn’t mean anything besides the fact that’s it’s a dance. performed with your dancing partner. Damn yall irritating but stay tuned. Go Boss Lady 💃.” Shante responded with three blue heart emojis.
Others suggested some viewers were only seeing this side of Shante for the first time. @jo_bella_246 wrote, “Some of you are new to her page and it shows,” and Shante agreed, writing, “Right.” @temple.willis told her, “I love your comeback on the comments.” Shante answered, “They Trippin.”
As the criticism—and the back-and-forth—swirled, Snoop Dogg finally appeared in the comment section of Shante’s video. He didn’t leave a spoken message. Instead, he posted what appeared to be supportive emojis: “🔥🔥🔥💪🏾🐾🐾💖 💃🏽.”
Shante replied with, “Preach Church Tabernacle 💙💙.”
The exact moment Snoop Dogg was present for the dance itself wasn’t clear. But his emoji response landed right where the discussion was already focused—on whether he was watching, whether he approved, and what Shante would do with the internet’s opinions.
Despite the shock from some replies, Snoop Dogg seemingly hasn’t returned to the comment section again. For now, Shante’s message was simple: she’s still dancing, still posting, and still blocking anything that tries to control what she does next.

Who cares it’s a dance video. People act like it’s a court case lol.
I mean the dude holding her from behind is kinda… weird? Like why is everyone bringing up Snoop Dogg at all, she’s grown. But also it’s DaBaby so you know the comments were gonna be nasty anyway.
So wait, people are saying she’s not “appropriate” because Snoop might not approve? That’s what I got from it. Honestly I don’t know what’s worse, the critics or the ones blaming Snoop like he’s the dad or something lol. Also she said “I put it on social media” which sounds like she’s annoyed she even had to explain.
This is why I mute Instagram comments. They always try to police women like they’re property. Like I saw somebody say “modern day wifey” and “not good for them kids” which is already such a wild reach. But then she’s like “Snoop my husband not my controller” and I agree… but also I feel like Snoop shouldn’t even be in the conversation at all? Yet somehow it always is.
