The Old West End Festival draws thousands to one of Toledo’s most historic neighborhoods every year. On Saturday, June 6, the celebration ended for some in gunfire.
Toledo Police responded around 5:37 p.m. ET to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Delaware and Glenwood avenues, according to a statement posted by the department on social media. The shooting happened in the area of the annual Old West End Festival.
When officers arrived, they found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said several victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Authorities have not released the number of people injured or the extent of their injuries.
Investigators said the search for a suspect or suspects is ongoing. Police said the investigation spans multiple locations, including areas near Delaware and Robinwood avenues.
Residents and festivalgoers were urged to avoid the area and expect a significant law enforcement presence as officers continued their search and investigators worked to determine what led to the shooting.
As the investigation continued, the Toledo Police Department had not announced whether any arrests have been made.

Wait, was this during the Old West End Festival like right after the parade? I keep hearing different stuff like it was fireworks but then “gunshot wounds”?? Poor people, hope they find who did it.
Delaware and Glenwood… isn’t that near where they always have the big crowds? I saw someone say it might’ve been a fight that got out of hand, but they’re searching multiple locations so maybe it was more than one person. Kinda wild they haven’t said anything about arrests yet.
This is why I don’t go to festivals anymore, too many random people. They say “ongoing search” but like how long does that take, you just go door to door on Robinwood?? Also could’ve been mistaken for construction noise or something, idk. I’m just mad that thousands are there and suddenly it turns into shooting.
