Shia LaBeouf Pleads Guilty After Mardi Gras Brawl Deal

Shia LaBeouf pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor battery charges in a New Orleans courthouse, reaching a plea deal that includes a six-month suspended sentence and two years of probation—along with rehab, sensitivity training, and anger management classes.

Shia LaBeouf’s Mardi Gras trouble in New Orleans didn’t end with a verdict day—it ended in a courthouse plea.

On Wednesday. the 39-year-old actor appeared in a New Orleans courthouse and pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor battery charges tied to the allegations that he “terrorized” the city during Mardi Gras. The case stemmed from an incident that allegedly began with a fight inside a bar, which led to his arrest.

Under the terms of the plea deal, LaBeouf received a six-month suspended sentence and two years of probation, according to court records. The judge also required him to complete alcohol abuse rehabilitation, sensitivity training, and anger management classes.

His attorney, Sarah Chervinsky, framed the incident differently. She said what happened was “nothing more than a minor bar tussle” and denied that any “bias” was involved in the investigation. For LaBeouf’s part, Chervinsky said he is “looking forward to focusing on family, work and new creative projects.”.

It’s a resolution that keeps jail time off the table for now—if LaBeouf follows the conditions of probation and stays out of further trouble. The case also lands amid a season that already included multiple run-ins with the law for the actor.

As the charges are settled on paper, the question shifts to what comes next: whether LaBeouf can turn this plea deal into a clean slate, and how the public reacts to the lack of immediate incarceration.
