Severe Western Cape storms displace hundreds in Breede Valley

Heavy rainfall and flooding across the Western Cape have left hundreds displaced in the Breede Valley, triggering urgent rescue and relief efforts.

Hundreds of people have been displaced in the Breede Valley municipal area in the Boland due to severe storms that have lashed the Western Cape since the weekend.. Affected families are being accommodated in five municipal halls.. Helicopters are expected to be deployed this morning to assist those communities at Rawsonville and the surrounding areas who are cut off by the floodwaters.. disaster management officials and humanitarian organisations to assist residents affected by the severe weather conditions..
