Rumer Willis’ baby daddy isn’t letting Demi Moore’s courtroom allegations stand.
In ongoing custody proceedings over their 3-year-old daughter. Louetta. Derek Richard Thomas is pushing back hard against Moore’s claims that he’s aggressive and has no regard for Rumer’s well-being—or the child’s. Moore’s filing. submitted in court docs. alleges Thomas “appears to want to dictate and control Rumer’s environment” and has “absolutely no respect. care. concern. compassion or support toward anyone. especially Rumer and the baby.”.
Thomas now says those claims don’t match his behavior. In new legal documents, he insists he has never acted “aggressively or inappropriately.” He also counters the picture of his conduct by arguing Rumer “has launched a coordinated media attack across dozens of outlets” against him.
The fight escalates into allegations about how Louetta is being presented publicly. Thomas claims Rumer is the one “exploiting their child in sponsored content” that he characterizes as having “adult sexual humor,” adding that he says he never consented.
He also frames himself as deeply involved day-to-day. Thomas tells the court he is an “absolutely present father” and says he has FaceTimed Louetta every day for over a year. He argues he has made “several attempts” to see her in person. but says those efforts are blocked by Rumer through changing “conditions” to their visits.
There’s also a dispute about where Louetta has lived. Thomas alleges Rumer moved Louetta to Idaho under the claim it would be temporary. citing an effort to escape what he describes as the toxic air quality after the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025. He then says Rumer tried to establish residency there instead.
Thomas further denies other allegations being made in the case, including claims that he’s on drugs and that he doesn’t financially support Louetta. He tells the court he would be willing to pay reasonable child support, pointing to his “$2,350 average monthly income.”
As the legal fight continues, Thomas is asking the court to adopt what he calls a proposed interim parenting plan. The plan would map out visitation on specific dates. holidays and overnights. along with exchange protocols and communication rules he says are necessary to “stabilize what has been an otherwise chaotic and unreasonable situation for Louetta.”.
Demi Moore’s statement enters the case after Rumer and Thomas split in 2024, about a year after their daughter’s birth. For now, Rumer’s side hasn’t publicly responded through the court filings themselves—TMZ reached out to Rumer for comment, and so far, there has been no word back.
