Quetta train bombing kills 23 as 70 injured

Quetta train – A suicide bombing in Quetta Sunday morning killed at least 23 people and injured roughly 70 after an explosives-packed vehicle detonated near a railway line as a passenger train passed through the area.
For the third day. the images have kept replaying—train cars twisted. rescue crews working through heavy smoke. and armed security standing guard as families waited for answers. In Quetta. Pakistan. a suicide bombing targeted a passenger train on Sunday morning. leaving at least 23 people dead and roughly 70 others injured.
The blast hit as the train moved through the area in Quetta. An explosives-packed vehicle detonated near the railway line, and the force of the attack reportedly overturned two train cars and set them on fire. Thick black smoke rose into the sky, while the wreckage was left visibly torn and damaged.
A separatist group claimed responsibility for the attack. The Balochistan Liberation Army said its “fidayee” suicide unit carried out the bombing, describing the attackers as self-sacrificing. The group said the target was “occupying forces” traveling from Quetta Military Cantonment.
Authorities said the attack was aimed at security personnel they believed were onboard. Local reports added another layer to the tragedy: the train was carrying army personnel and their family members heading to mark Eid al-Adha events.
Photos from the scene showed heavily damaged rail cars, armed security forces, and rescue crews pulling victims from the wreckage. The blast also damaged nearby buildings and several parked vehicles, turning the surroundings into a wide stretch of debris.
In the aftermath, officials said more than 20 of the injured remain in critical condition.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the bombing, calling it a “cowardly act of terrorism.” He also vowed to continue fighting to eliminate terrorism.
The details of who was on the train—security personnel under targeting claims, and army families under local accounts—are now colliding in the same place: a corridor of rails where the blast overturned cars and cut short lives on a weekend that should have been for Eid al-Adha preparations.

23 dead is just insane. Why is it always happening on trains like can’t they just stop targeting those.
I saw “Balochistan Liberation Army” and I’m like okay so it’s the same region drama again. Also weren’t they supposed to have security at the cantonment? feels like they knew.
Wait so was the train actually full of soldiers or just families? The article says army personnel and family members for Eid, but also says authorities thought security personnel were onboard. That’s a lot of mixed info, like which one is true??
Suicide bombing near a railway line, overturned cars, black smoke… yeah that’s gonna be a mess for days. Not sure why they keep calling it “cowardly act” like words fix anything though. Seems like they should’ve shut down the route if there’s an Eid event for the military people or whatever.
