Prince Harry longs for England—Meghan’s future vision diverges

Prince Harry is reportedly feeling increasingly homesick and wants to return to England for philanthropy and familiar security, but Dan Wakeford claims Meghan Markle wants a very different, glamorous success-and-lifestyle path. Their pursuit of media deals sin
Prince Harry may be looking at England again through a wave of homesickness—while Meghan Markle, according to claims from within the Sussex camp, is focused on an entirely different kind of future.
Speaking this week on Tom Sykes’ The Royalist podcast. former People and Us Weekly editor Dan Wakeford said sources inside the Sussex camp are describing Harry as missing home. including “his friends” and the “safety and that security” royal life provided. Wakeford added that Harry allegedly longs to go back to England one day.
But Meghan, Wakeford said, does not share that desire.
Wakeford framed the situation as a mismatch that goes beyond comfort. He said the couple still want to build a life and brand after quitting the royal family back in 2020. yet their targets have drifted far apart: “These two people want completely different things. What Harry wants, and what Megan wants, is very different.”.
In his telling, Harry wants “this life in England” and says he wants to do philanthropy. Wakeford contrasted that with what he described as Meghan’s goal—a “Lauren Sánchez lifestyle,” pushing her toward a sleeker, more glamorous figure of success and lifestyle.
The friction sits against the backdrop of how the couple has tried to replace their royal foundation. Since leaving. the pair have worked to build their own fortune outside of “The Firm. ” including signing major deals with Netflix and Spotify. Wakeford said those moves haven’t been the win they hoped for. He claimed they were “dumped by the music platform. ” and he also suggested there have been issues with Netflix behind the scenes. while noting their deal “isn’t entirely over… yet.”.
Wakeford then returned to the central question: whether the tradeoffs have been worth it. On the podcast. he pointed to the money involved. saying the Netflix deal alone represents a level of income they could “only dream of in a lifetime.” He added that even the Spotify deal reportedly ended with an exit payment. claiming that his sources said they took away $5 million from that deal.
But he argued the cash doesn’t solve the bigger problem. “Financially, they’ve made money. But it is not sustainable. That is the issue here. ” Wakeford said. questioning whether what they built justifies “the sacrifice of the family. the estrangement. the loss. and the security issues that they have had to deal with.”.
Wakeford also said Harry and Meghan attempted to build a broader “media empire” and pursued ventures including charitable endeavors, yet what’s emerged hasn’t turned into a durable, recognizable entertainment identity.
Even with the differences, Wakeford insisted the relationship isn’t collapsing. He said Harry and Meghan are “not wildly unhappy together. ” adding that they “are bound by a very strong bond and get along very well.” Still. he cautioned that their pattern with work and relationships can be rough. He said they “often alienate the partners they work with. ” and “have a tendency to alienate the people around them as well.”.
As the couple tries to navigate what their next chapter should look like, the podcast episode—hosted by Tom Sykes—was shared via a link embedded in the segment, inviting viewers to watch the full discussion.
