By the time Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing rolls around, the jackpot will be climbing fast—again.

The prize reached $194 million with a cash value of $86.7 million ahead of the Wednesday, June 3 drawing. Powerball’s jackpot has been hit almost 200 times since the lottery’s inception in 1992. a record that’s helped turn the game’s bigger-than-big weeks into a familiar part of the American gambling calendar.

Powerball has also shown a clear pattern of winners across the country. Among the states with the most winners are Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

For players watching from the sidelines, the timing matters. It has now been more than a month since the Powerball jackpot was won. The last time the big prize was hit was on May 2, when two winners—one from Texas and one from Florida—split a $20 million jackpot prize.

Wednesday night’s numbers and results will be posted after the drawing. Winning numbers for the June 3 Powerball will appear at 11 p.m. ET.

Rules stay straightforward, and the odds aren’t softened by the size of the prize. Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets can be purchased at an authorized and licensed retailer such as a local convenience store. gas station. or even a grocery store. In some states, tickets can be bought online depending on local jurisdiction.

To play, customers pick six numbers. Five white balls are numbered 1 to 69, and the red Powerball is numbered 1 to 26. Players can also add “Power Play” for $1, which increases winning for all non-jackpot prizes. The Power Play multiplier can multiply winnings by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X. A “Quick Pick” option is also available if players want the computer to select the numbers.

To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball.

Drawings happen three times a week—Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. If no one wins the jackpot, the cash prize keeps ticking up.

The mounting prize isn’t happening in a vacuum. Some of the biggest recent jackpots include $2.040 billion on Nov. 7, 2022 in California; $1.817 billion on Dec. 24, 2025 in Arkansas; and $1.787 billion on Sept. 6, 2025 in Missouri and Texas. In the current run of growing jackpots, players also see past wins as a reminder of how often someone, somewhere, lands on the right combination. Out of all winners since 1992, Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin stand out among the states with the most winners.

The latest stretch has simply extended the wait. More than a month after May 2’s $20 million split—between a Texas winner and a Florida winner—the Powerball jackpot is now headed into Wednesday, with $194 million on the line.

  1. So the cash value is 86.7 million but it says jackpot 194… i don’t get why they even call it that. Like can you really only get half-ish or is that just taxes lying again?

  2. Wait, it says tickets are sold in 45 states, but also DC, Puerto Rico, and USVI? So technically more than 45. Also I swear last time i checked it was 48 states so they keep changing it lol.

  3. May 2 was the last big split, two winners Texas and Florida, so maybe that means it’ll be split again right? like the odds of two states winning again has gotta be pretty high. Anyway I’m buying at the gas station like always, because those people never lie about the numbers… right? Numbers drop at 11pm ET so i’ll set a reminder i guess.
