Hunter Biden roasts cocaine rumor with seven-year sobriety post

Hunter Biden shut down long-running social media claims that he left cocaine in the White House by posting a video celebrating seven years of sobriety. The post reignited debate tied to a 2023 Secret Service investigation into a small bag found in the West Win

Hunter Biden didn’t just address a rumor—he turned it into a punchline.

On June 1. 2026. the former president’s son posted a video celebrating seven years of sobriety. writing alongside it. “7 years sober today. Thank you to everyone who has walked this road with me.” In the video. Hunter said. “Seven years. clean and sober. ” adding. “I’m more proud of that than anything I’ve ever done in my life.”.

The message didn’t stay in the realm of personal milestone for long. It quickly pulled in social media critics, including one commenter who wrote, “Bulls***. That was your bag of coke in the White House.”

Hunter fired back with a line that landed like a joke even at the expense of the accusation: “It most definitely was not. I would never have forgotten my drugs.”

The exchange referenced a rumor that has lingered since a real incident in the White House. In 2023, a small bag of cocaine was discovered in the West Wing, and it triggered a Secret Service investigation. That investigation, however, never identified who misplaced the cocaine.

Hunter, meanwhile, has repeatedly been targeted by conservative critics during and after the 2020 presidential campaign, with many trying to connect his addiction struggles and legal troubles to his father’s political career.

Joe Biden also drew intense backlash after pardoning his son in December 2024. At the time, the president argued Hunter had been “selectively and unfairly prosecuted” by the Department of Justice.

While the sobriety post played out in comments and reactions, Hunter’s history also remains central to the story conservatives keep revisiting. He was convicted on federal gun charges in June 2024 and later pleaded guilty to nine federal tax charges in September of that year.

The renewed attention on Hunter’s addiction comes as Jill Biden has also spoken more publicly about the family’s experience. During an appearance on The View, Jill said she regretted not opening up sooner while in the White House. “I’m sorry that I didn’t talk about it a little bit more,” she said. “And I hope that by talking about it more as I go forward, I hope that offers other people hope. … It is such a tough, tough thing to deal with.”.

  1. The whole “I’d never forget my drugs” thing is either real or the biggest PR line ever. Cuz people say that right before they… I mean if it was never his then fine but the White House bag rumor is not going away.

  2. Wait I thought that 2023 Secret Service thing was already solved? Like they found a bag and then just shrugged? Also conservatives act like Joe personally lost the coke in the West Wing which is wild.

  3. Man it’s crazy how a video turns into a whole court case in the comments. If it was in the West Wing then it was “Hunter” or “someone” right? And the fact he’s got gun and tax stuff too… idk seems connected even if they can’t prove it. Also Jill on The View like “hope” — ok but where was that support back then.
