Marshals Season – Paramount+ has confirmed a second season for “Marshals,” but there’s no release date yet, and it’s unclear whether production has started. Season 1, meanwhile, is building toward a major showdown after a drug cartel is uncovered in Broken Rock.
Kayce Dutton’s new life as a U.S. Marshal is already hitting its breaking point in “Marshals” — and now fans are wondering how quickly the story will come roaring back.
Season 1 is set to end with a bang after Marshals unearth a drug cartel operating from Broken Rock. The group — led by Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes). a Dutton family scion from “Yellowstone” — “race(s) to discover who’s targeting” Broken Rock chairman Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) after Kayce protects him during an assassination attempt. according to the season finale preview.
The preview teases a widening conspiracy: “When a militia attacks, Kayce realizes the conspiracy is larger than anyone imagined.”
The series launched with Kayce leaving the Yellowstone Ranch behind and joining an elite unit of U.S. Marshals. described as “combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana.” His mission comes with a price. as the cast and crew frame his journey around “the high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence with their duty to their families.”.
There’s one thing viewers can count on, though: the story is not finished.
Paramount+ announced that “Marshals” will return for a second season, shortly after the series premiered. The streaming service also said the “Yellowstone” spin off was the most-streamed CBS series premiere ever. Paramount+ added that the March 1 premiere of “Marshals” was watched by 20.6 million viewers on Paramount platforms within seven days of its release.
A season 2 date is still missing. A release date for “Marshals” Season 2 has not been announced, and it is not yet known if production on the second season has begun. CBS did not immediately respond to a request for additional information.
With that uncertainty hanging over everything, fans are also left piecing together what the next chapter might look like — especially as the show keeps multiple characters’ fates up in the air. It is not known which cast members will be returning for Season 1.

The season finale is scheduled to air on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+ for Premium plan subscribers at 8 p.m. ET / PT on Sunday, May 24.
“Marshals” Season 1 is available to stream on Paramount+. And based on other Taylor Sheridan-helmed shows like “Landman,” fans can expect a new season to come within one to two years — even as official confirmation on the exact timing for Season 2 remains out of reach.

I don’t even get why they’d protect Rainwater and then it turns into this whole militia thing. Like isn’t that the same guy from Yellowstone? Unless they switched it up and it’s not him, idk.
“Higher psychological cost” sounds like they’re gonna drag it out. If production isn’t started yet then maybe we won’t see Kayce again til summer? or fall? also the preview saying “race(s) to discover who’s targeting” like are they racing or just guessing, bc that’s what it feels like.
