Ray J didn’t just lose a celebrity MMA bout in Las Vegas—he lost it in the most jarring way possible, sent down by a knockout blow so early in the second round that the referee had to end things almost immediately.
The 45-year-old actor and R&B singer, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr, stepped into a UFC Apex event hosted by controversial livestreamer Adin Ross. He faced YouTube icon Supa Hot Fire during the bout, with Supa Hot Fire entering as a character created by Deshawn Raw.
Early in the second round, Supa Hot Fire landed the knockout strike. Ray J appeared visibly stunned, fell against the ropes, and dropped to the mat. He managed to get back up, but he then had to sit on a stool—an indication of how compromised he was—prompting the referee to stop the match.
The fight’s timing carried extra weight because it followed Ray J’s earlier public health scare. Nearly four months before the bout. Ray J said he didn’t have much longer left to live. pointing to heart issues tied to a history of heavy drinking and drug abuse. In a social media post, he said, “2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” adding “That’s what they say.”.
He also warned about his own risk in how hard he was going. saying. “I shouldn’t have went this hard. bro. ” and describing what he believed would happen afterward: “My baby mama [his estranged wife. Princess Love] gonna be straight. my kids gonna be straight. if they wanna spend all the money. they can spend it.” He added. “I did my part here. And damn. when it’s all done. burn me. don’t bury me.” After that. Ray J told TMZ that doctors advised him to take medication for heart disease and cholesterol and to remain on bedrest.
After Saturday’s defeat, Ray J implied the result may not have gone the way he expected. In a post-fight interview. he appeared to suggest the bout was supposed to be fixed in his favor—only for Supa Hot Fire to not follow whatever plan was discussed. “Damn bro … like that?. For real … that’s janky as f**k,” Ray J told his rival, sounding incredulous. “I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to get nobody in trouble. but damn … we took an L tonight.”.
Ray J also described the financial angle of the night, saying, “You know how much money we lost? Wow… wow.”
With the knockout ended by the referee after Ray J sat on a stool, the scene was brutally clear: whatever expectations surrounded the fight, the bodywork didn’t cooperate. The clash concluded in the same spotlight that had already surrounded Ray J’s claim that his health could be running out.

He said 2027 is a wrap… so did he actually get beat up or is this like some scripted acting thing?
Ray J really thought it was fixed?? That’s wild. Also heart stuff + going hard… people don’t think.
How is the ref stopping it like immediately if he “got back up”? Sounds like they were already rushing it or something. And Adin Ross hosting is always drama so I’m not shocked.
I don’t even know who Supa Hot Fire is but the name sounds like a character. Ray J saying he “shouldn’t have went this hard” like bro you chose the fight… then blaming a “plan”?? idk
