The 45-year-old actor and R&B singer, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr, stepped into a UFC Apex event hosted by controversial livestreamer Adin Ross. He faced YouTube icon Supa Hot Fire during the bout, with Supa Hot Fire entering as a character created by Deshawn Raw.
Early in the second round, Supa Hot Fire landed the knockout strike. Ray J appeared visibly stunned, fell against the ropes, and dropped to the mat. He managed to get back up, but he then had to sit on a stool—an indication of how compromised he was—prompting the referee to stop the match.
