Mo’ Bettahs Hawaiian Restaurant Heads to Arizona

So, it looks like Gilbert is getting a little taste of the islands. Mo’ Bettahs—a restaurant chain founded back in 2008 by a couple of brothers from Hawaii—is officially opening its first Arizona location. They’ve been scaling up pretty fast lately, hitting nearly 80 spots across seven states. I walked past the site the other day and, honestly, it still looks like an old Carl’s Jr., which is exactly what it was before this move.
They’re slotting this new place right at the corner of Power and Ray Roads. It’s part of a much bigger push, actually, not just here, but also in places like Indianapolis and Minneapolis. The whole mission is pretty straightforward: bringing those classic Hawaiian plate lunches to the mainland. Rice, macaroni salad, and various meat options like kalua pork or teriyaki chicken. You know, the good stuff.
Wait, I should mention they confirmed this on Instagram.
It’s interesting how these chains just kind of pop up in old fast-food shells. One day it’s burgers, the next it’s island-style BBQ. The smell of that charcoal-grilled chicken might be a nice change from the usual drive-thru scents in the area. Or maybe it’ll just be another spot to grab lunch. Either way, it’s coming.
Details are still a bit thin, though. We don’t have a firm opening date yet, just that they’re planting a flag at 5378 S. Power Road. You can keep an eye on Misryoum or their own site for updates, but for now, it’s mostly just a “coming soon” vibe. It’s a big shift for the neighborhood, I guess. Or maybe it’s just lunch.
Anyway, they’re definitely busy expanding. The company confirmed it all in a post, though they haven’t spilled on the exact ribbon-cutting day. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see when the grills actually fire up.
