Marshals dethroned by Dutton Ranch on Paramount+ charts

Marshals loses – Paramount+ had Marshals sitting on top after its March 1, 2026 premiere, but new FlixPatrol data shows the Yellowstone spin-off has slipped as Dutton Ranch surpasses it on the streaming charts.
On March 1, 2026, Marshals arrived on Paramount+ and quickly took the No. 1 streaming spot—at least, for a stretch. The Yellowstone franchise entry follows Kayce Dutton. played by Luke Grimes. as he leaves the Dutton Ranch behind and serves as a U.S. Marshal tasked with apprehending some of the most dangerous criminals.
Marshals is also notable in the Yellowstone universe for one very specific reason: it’s the first Yellowstone series not created by Taylor Sheridan himself. The show is only attached as a producer, while the freshly released Dutton Ranch spin-off carries its own distinction—created by Chad Feehan.
But the momentum that put Marshals at the top didn’t hold. New FlixPatrol data indicates the charts have shifted. While Marshals may have held streaming dominance since its premiere, its grip on the number-one position has been broken, with Dutton Ranch now surpassing it.
The shake-up lands in the middle of a bigger Yellowstone-era expansion that’s already packed with new and returning stories. Yellowstone’s extended universe traces back to Taylor Sheridan. with the franchise continuing through the prequel series 1883 and 1923—both created by Sheridan. Then came The Madison. the new Yellowstone-style Western co-starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer. which has been picked up for Seasons 2 and 3.
Other Sheridan-driven shows keep running through the same ecosystem too: Tulsa King. and Lioness. whose recently filmed and long-awaited third season co-stars Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman. Marshals may be one of the newest additions. but it isn’t the only one pushing Paramount+ forward in the Yellowstone orbit.
The streaming battle also arrives as Sheridan’s business footing at Paramount prepares to change later. Sheridan’s movie deal with Paramount ended a few months ago. but his streaming and television deal with the studio won’t expire for a couple of years yet. When it does end, Sheridan is expected to move on to NBCUniversal.
For now. the rollout keeps coming: Lioness returns for Season 3 targeting a late summer 2026 release after averaging 25.24 million viewers in its first month of streaming. Marshals has been renewed for a second season by CBS and will return this fall. Mayor of Kingstown will return for a fourth and final season, and Landman will come back for Season 3.
Tulsa King has its fourth season on the horizon, and the Sylvester Stallone-led series is also set to expand with Frisco King. Frisco King will follow Samuel L. Jackson’s character, Russell Lee Washington Jr., who was introduced in the third season of Tulsa King.
Marshals, with its March 1, 2026 debut and Season 2 renewal, was the show that grabbed the crown early. But if the charts are any signal, Dutton Ranch is now ready to take it from here—at least for the moment—right inside the Paramount+ streaming spotlight.
