Lainey Wilson joins Hilton road trip, fans get in

Lainey Wilson says travel is part of how she writes, and now Hilton is turning that idea into a fan experience: a Hilton Honors America road trip package tied to her Aug. 21 Atlanta concert, with meet-and-greet access and perks for 250 points.

Lainey Wilson can feel it when she’s back on the road—like the places she’s been keep tapping her on the shoulder when she’s trying to finish a song.

She says her creativity comes from motion: hearing music from different regions. noticing new landscapes. and letting destinations work their way into the lyrics. “I love being out west, I love the desert,” Wilson said. “There’s something really special about that. and healing about that. and I feel like I catch myself when I’m writing a song kind of going back to some of those places and dreaming about being out there in the desert.”.

Now, fans can chase that same feeling in a different way—by booking a Hilton Honors road trip experience built around Wilson’s upcoming show in Atlanta.

Wilson’s trips aren’t just sightseeing. She describes meet-and-greet conversations in cities across the country as another kind of fuel. the kind that comes with eye contact and a quick shared moment that lingers after the conversation ends. “I get to meet so many different types of people from so many different walks of life. shake their hand. look in their eye. and feel like we’re friends when the conversation is over. and I feel like that’s a big part of my inspiration. ” she said.

Her on-tour schedule rarely gives her much free time, but she still tries to carve it out. “I feel like a lot of my life has is lived on a timeline. on a schedule. and so (I try) to make sure that I carve out that time to like go and explore and see the town. go to the coffee shops. meet the people. hear the different accents. all the things like that. ” Wilson said. For her, that local texture is the point.

When she can, she’s also selective about how she travels. Planes and buses aren’t always the default. In Europe, Wilson said she often travels by train, describing the calm rhythm of reading while the landscape rolls past. “There’s something about just getting on that train and putting in your earbuds and reading a book. and just being able to look out the window and watch the world pass you by. and get to see all the different landscapes and the sheep and all those things. ” she said. “If we had more trains over here (in the U.S.), I’d be hopping a train.”.

At 19, Wilson traveled back and forth between Louisiana and Nashville before she moved to Music City full-time. She made that transition in a camper trailer and then lived in it for three years, saying: “I feel kind of like I’m a professional traveler.”

Even with all the movement, she keeps a few steady comforts. She brings her French Bulldog, Hippie Mae, when she can—“She is rotten; it’s her world, we’re living in it,” Wilson said—and she packs books.

Wilson also tied her reading habit to focus and grounding. “I feel like for years I allowed my ADHD to convince me that I wasn’t much of a reader. and I’m just really diving into that. so making sure I bring my Kindle. my Bible. anything that just makes me feel grounded and centered and focused. and makes me feel like I can get up there and do the best that I possibly can for the fans. ” she added.

The Hilton Honors America package gives that road-trip impulse a concrete route. The experience is for two people and includes tickets to Wilson’s Aug. 21 concert in Atlanta, with Chris Stapleton and Ashley McBryde also on the bill. Travelers also get a meet-and-greet. a three-night stay at a Hilton hotel in Atlanta. and two nights at Hampton by Hilton while they make their way there.

There’s more built in for the drive itself: a road trip starter kit that includes a $250 BP gift card, games and more.

For Hilton Honors loyalty members. the booking window runs on June 25. and the package will be available on a first-come. first-served basis. Non-members can sign up online for the rewards program. Enrollment is free. but booking requires at least 250 points—points that can be earned within a one-night stay at a Hampton by Hilton.

Wilson said she wants to give fans something that matches what life on the road has given her. “Truthfully. I’ve lived a lot of my life on the road. and I feel like some of my favorite memories and moments. song ideas. all of that has come from running up and down the road. so I just want to give people an experience. ” she said.

  1. Hilton really out here buying meet-and-greets huh. 250 points sounds like nothing though, like that’s a couple dollars worth? I guess fans will still go.

  2. Wait I thought Lainey Wilson was joining like a Hilton promotion already, not a road trip. But meet-and-greet conversations across the country? Wouldn’t that just be, like, staged in a parking lot or something? Also “aug. 21 Atlanta concert” is soon so maybe they rushed it.

  3. Honestly this is just another way to get people to use the credit card points. “Healing about the desert” is cute but I’m side-eyeing Hilton like… do you actually get to go places or is it just “perks” and a hotel receipt. I don’t even know what 250 points gets you now days, they always change the math.
