Tucker Carlson Says He Won’t Back Republicans in 2026

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson says he has “no chance” of supporting the Republican Party in the 2026 midterm elections, adding that he also won’t back Democrats and warning he believes other people feel the same way.

Tucker Carlson didn’t hedge when asked about the 2026 midterm elections.

On the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast, the former Fox News host was pressed about which side he would support—and his answer landed fast. “There’s no chance I would support the Republican Party. Not going to support the Democratic Party. I don’t know what I’m going to do,” Carlson said.

Carlson tied his decision to loyalty and country over party. “How could I, or any American voters, support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States, that puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens?” he added.

He expanded the point further. saying it wasn’t just a strategic choice—it was a line he wouldn’t cross. “It’s not possible to vote for people like that. And I’m not going to. I voted republican my entire life. I worked at Fox News…I’ve been a consistent defender…But there’s no defending this. Because it’s immoral. And it’s exactly the opposite of what a political party in a democracy is charged with doing,” Carlson said.

Then came his prediction about the ripple effect. “And if I’m out, then I think a lot of other people are out.”

Carlson also previously apologized for his role in helping get Trump elected, and Donald Trump has previously called out several of his former allies—an uneasy backdrop for a political break that, for now, sounds final on both sides of the ticket.
