Hurricanes and Golden Knights clash for Stanley Cup June 2

Hurricanes vs – The Carolina Hurricanes host the Vegas Golden Knights as the 2026 Stanley Cup Final opens Tuesday, June 2, with all games carried on ABC in the United States. The matchup follows Carolina’s dominant Eastern run and Vegas’s swift path to the title round.
On Tuesday, June 2, the Hurricanes and Golden Knights step into the same familiar glare of the Stanley Cup spotlight—only this time, one home ice advantage comes with the weight of unfinished business.
The Stanley Cup Final begins with Carolina holding home ice for the best-of-seven series. The Hurricanes and Golden Knights have both survived their respective playoff gauntlets, and each is now one postseason run away from stacking another championship into an already telling franchise history.
Carolina will open the series at home against Vegas, with Game 1 set for Tuesday, June 2 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The schedule keeps the momentum tight: Game 2 on Thursday, June 4 at 8 p.m. ET, also with Vegas at Carolina on ABC; Game 3 on Saturday, June 6 at 8 p.m. ET with Carolina at Vegas on ABC.
The series shifts back south and then north again without much pause. Game 4 is Tuesday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET with Carolina at Vegas on ABCx; Game 5 follows Thursday, June 11 at 8 p.m. ET with Vegas at Carolina on ABCx; Game 6 is Sunday, June 14 at 8 p.m. ET with Carolina at Vegas on ABCx. If the teams need a seventh game, Game 7 is Wednesday, June 17 at 8 p.m. ET with Vegas at Carolina on ABCx-if necessary.
The path to this matchup has looked different in each conference—and the records show it. In the Eastern Conference, Carolina’s run reads like a series of statements. In the conference finals, the Hurricanes beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-1. In the semifinal round, Carolina swept the Philadelphia Flyers 4-0. And in the first round, it also handled the Ottawa Senators in a 4-0 win.
The Eastern bracket leading up to that included the Pittsburgh Penguins taking a 4-2 series win over the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Buffalo Sabres beating the Boston Bruins 4-2 before finishing with a 4-3 series loss to Montreal in the conference finals.
On the Western side, Vegas reached the Cup Final with the kind of control fans tend to remember. In the conference finals, the Golden Knights defeated the Colorado Avalanche 4-0. In the semifinal round, they won 4-1 against the Colorado Avalanche’s opponent, the Minnesota Wild. In the first round, Vegas beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-2. The Western schedule behind Vegas’s run included Colorado’s 4-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings. and Minnesota’s 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars.
Carolina’s franchise context and Vegas’s momentum make the timing feel sharper. The Golden Knights made their first Stanley Cup Final in their first year of existence in 2018. then won the championship in 2023. The Hurricanes. meanwhile. have won just one Cup in the franchise’s 47-year history—taking the title in 2006 in Hartford and Raleigh.
All Stanley Cup Final games will be broadcast in the United States by ABC, with streaming coverage available on Fubo.
The rest of the postseason calendar is equally busy for hockey watchers. with one extra twist built for fans beyond the rink: the NHL’s “Stanley Pup” is back. combining playoff hockey energy with a mission to help rescue dogs get adopted. The “Stanley Pup” segment airs on June 8 on truTV and HBO Max. and the puppies featured in the program are adoptable.

So Game 1 is June 2 at 8 on ABC right? Go Canes.
I don’t even follow hockey like that but Vegas always seems lucky. Home ice advantage like that for Carolina sounds like they already got it in the bag.
Wait, Hurricanes vs Golden Knights… so is this like a hurricane caused by Vegas or something? lol. Also those dates feel wrong, didn’t the playoffs already end like last week? ABC better not mess up the broadcast.
Carolina’s “unfinished business” is what they always say every year, and then it’s somehow the other team. I swear the schedule is like every other day, just moved around south and north. If it goes 7 games, June 17 at 8 ET right? I’m gonna be annoyed if it’s blacked out on my TV, ABC always does that.
