Helen Mirren ends MobLand feud rumors with post

Helen Mirren has moved quickly to shut down rumors of a feud with Tom Hardy on the set of MobLand, denying the claimed clashes after reports said Hardy was fired following Season 2.

Helen Mirren didn’t wait for the week’s chatter to fade—she posted right into it.

On May 28, Mirren shared a close-up photo of Tom Hardy’s face with a simple message: “Love you now and always, Helen.” The caption served as a direct response to a growing storm around MobLand, where rumors claimed Mirren and Hardy were at odds after on-set clashes.

Those whispers picked up momentum after Puck first reported that Hardy had been let go from MobLand after Season 2 wrapped production. The story was sharpened by an insider who described Hardy’s alleged behavior as a “power play. ” saying that keeping Pierce Brosnan. Helen Mirren and others waiting is “career suicide.”.

But the narrative shifted again as outlets moved to debunk the feud angle. Sources close to the MobLand production said there is no beef between Mirren and Hardy.

Variety also reported that the door is not closed for Season 3. That same report said “things are being worked through creatively,” framing the situation as something still in motion rather than a finished break.

A source described Mirren’s frustration—without turning it into a falling-out. They said Hardy’s lateness “frustrated” her, and that she told him, “Come on Tom, we’ve been here for ages, let’s get on with it.” The source added that Mirren “’s never appeared to be anti-Tom.”

The denials didn’t stop with schedule tensions. Rumors that the pair had fallen apart over political differences were also dismissed. One source said, “I’ve never heard of anything political. I think that’s probably wildly unhelpful and untrue.”

For Mirren specifically. another person made the point just as bluntly: “She’s not the sort of person who’s going to get involved in a whole political situation. She just isn’t. She certainly isn’t going to be one who stamps her feet and says. ‘Well I’m not coming back if he’s in it.’ It’s just not her.”.

The timing also matters. In December 2025, Mirren posted in support of Hardy after the Daily Mail reported that a “real-life personal battle” was taking place between the show’s two biggest stars due to Hardy’s lateness.

That post came with a blurry photo of Hardy’s face. and Mirren wrote what she loved and what she hated—making clear she wasn’t buying the drama. Among the things she loved were “Tom Hardy for his brilliance on screen. his dedication off screen. his good heart” and “the HardyHugs” she gets on the set of the show.

  1. I don’t believe it one way or the other lol. Like the internet hears “fired after Season 2” and that’s it, everybody runs with it. If she really loved him she wouldn’t need to post that right? Idk

  2. Wait so Hardy wasn’t fired but Puck said he was? That’s messy. Also “power play” sounds like gossip, but lateness frustrating Mirren makes sense I guess. They said it’s being worked through creatively… meaning they’re probably negotiating stuff behind the scenes right? lol

  3. Helen Mirren saying “Love you now and always” feels like damage control. Like actors don’t just randomly post that unless something happened. And the political rumor thing… people act like politics never gets involved but it always does. Plus Daily Mail already stirred it in December so of course now everyone’s watching.
