Scottie Pippen’s son, Preston Pippen, didn’t speak like someone recounting drama from a distance. In Netflix’s Calabasas Confidential, he described how the breakdown of his parents’ marriage landed on him personally—then how the public attention around it followed him back into everyday life.
Scottie and Larsa Pippen were married from 1997 to 2021, and they share four children. On the show, which airs in episodes four and six, Preston looked back at the emotional toll of their divorce, explaining that it wasn’t just the separation itself—it was what came after.
“I’m glad I’m not dealing with it all so [up] close,” Preston said of Larsa’s then-new relationship. He added: “It kind of sucks when your parents are divorced. That’s one thing, and then once they start dating, it’s another thing. If they get remarried, then it’s a bigger thing.”
He also recalled how the situation pulled people into it in ways that made home feel less safe. In a confessional, Preston said, “It was just all over the place. You would think. at that age. when you’re going to school. that it is safe and you’re dodging the drama at home.” He continued that people he believed were friends would tease him. adding. “People I thought were my friends would make jokes. and there’s already so much noise in the house.”.
Preston’s comments come against the specific allegations that, according to the account of the divorce’s cause in December 2021, involved Larsa being tied to an affair with rapper Future. “My parents got divorced when I was 15, and it was really tough because there was an affair,” he said.
As the story kept unfolding in public, the reaction he faced at school became its own kind of pressure. Preston got emotional describing how it showed up in his day-to-day life: “Kids at school. like my friends. would play music by a rapper that my mom was taking to at the time. and it was just s—-y.” He added. “I am removed from it now. so it’s easy to kind of talk about.”.
The timeline of Preston’s account runs back to 2016, when Scottie and Larsa had their first separation. At that point, Larsa dated Future. Scottie and Larsa later reconciled following the initial split, before ultimately divorcing in 2021.
Preston also addressed how the attention surrounding Larsa seemed to multiply. He pointed to her association with a “very famous family,” a reference that appears to tie to her former friendship with Kim Kardashian, saying that didn’t help matters: “It was just all over the place.”
After the divorce, Larsa’s dating history continued to be part of the public conversation. She dated Marcus Jordan for two years, and the two split in 2024. She then moved on to Jeff Coby, and they split last month. Scottie Pippen, meanwhile, is not publicly dating anyone.
