Dimarco’s free kick caps MVP night as Inter draws 3-3

Dimarco’s free – Federico Dimarco celebrated being named Serie A MVP by scoring a stunning 25-yard free kick, but Inter Milan’s season finale still ended in a 3-3 draw with Bologna on Saturday.
MILAN — Federico Dimarco walked onto the pitch with the Serie A MVP award fresh on his mind, and within minutes he made sure it wouldn’t be a quiet moment.
Inter Milan’s much-changed side still had the league title and the Italian Cup already secured, yet the finale still carried its own drama. Dimarco, presented with his award just before kickoff, scored the opener with a stunning 25-yard free kick that curled into the top right corner.
Bologna answered quickly. Federico Bernardeschi leveled three minutes later, and the visitors slipped behind shortly before halftime when Tommaso Pobega’s volley took a double deflection.
Inter had little to prove in the standings — Bologna had no realistic path to European qualification — but the match turned into a test of resilience. Bologna had lost half of its previous home matches this season. and for stretches it looked like it might extend the trend in its favor at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
The balance finally shifted early in the second half when Piotr Zieliński turned a cross into an own net, pulling Inter back level. Pio Esposito restored Bologna’s lead in the 64th after he tapped in a rebound following Andy Diouf’s effort that had bounced off the post.
Diouf would add to the chaos again at the end, getting on the scoresheet himself in the 86th as the game finished 3-3.
Inter coach Cristian Chivu had given World Cup-bound players an extra week off — Hakan Calhanoglu, Manuel Akanji, Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries — but captain Lautaro Martínez started after returning from injury only recently and needing more playing time.
Lazio played later against already-relegated Pisa in their final match. Most of Serie A’s final round matches took place on Sunday night, when four teams battled for the final two Champions League places and two teams fought against relegation.

MVP and still a 3-3… so basically football is just vibes lol.
I don’t get how they had the title already and still dropped it. Also that MVP free kick was insane though, top corner from 25 is crazy.
Wait wasn’t Dimarco on the other team? Like I swear I saw him in highlights like last week and thought he played for Bologna or something. Either way the article says 3-3 but also talks about Inter’s season finale drama, so what was the point if Bologna couldn’t even qualify?
All these deflections and own nets… this is why I don’t watch soccer, it’s just rebounds and luck. But the coach Chivu giving guys time off then Lautaro comes in, idk, seems like they were trying too hard to rotate instead of actually winning.
