Diddy’s Company Sued After Allegedly Missing Star Island Close

A buyer is suing 1 West Star Island LLC, claiming the company didn’t close on Diddy’s Star Island home deal after the May 12 deadline—citing an alleged failure to deliver paperwork tied to mortgages and a dispute over the contract’s terms.
For weeks, the sale of Diddy’s Star Island mansion was supposed to move forward. Then May 12 came and went—at least, that’s how the buyer tells it in a newly filed lawsuit.
John Franklin is suing 1 West Star Island LLC. the corporation that technically owns the property. claiming he signed an agreement in March to purchase the home for $55 million near Miami. In the lawsuit. Franklin says the closing date was set for May 12. but when the day arrived. he claims the company was “not ready or able to close” even though he was.
Franklin’s filing points to the state of the title as the sticking point. He says 1 West Star Island wasn’t able to provide a clear title by the closing date because the company failed to provide paperwork tied to a couple mortgages on the property.
The contract, Franklin says, includes a mediation clause. He tells the court he will go to mediation to work out the deal—but he’s also taking legal action “out of an abundance of caution” to protect his interest in the property.
Franklin is asking a judge to enforce the contract and force the sale.
The Star Island home has carried heavy weight in the wider story around Diddy. The mansion made headlines as one of the properties the feds raided months before Diddy’s September 2024 arrest in New York City. Officers arrived by boat to search the compound in March 2024. and later the federal government released photos showing what it said it found. including sex toys on a shelving unit near Vaseline and Astroglide lube.
While the legal fight over the sale plays out, Diddy remains behind bars. He is currently serving time at Fort Dix, a federal prison in New Jersey, and is expected to be released in February 2028.
Diddy’s Star Island home has also been part of his own attempts to regain freedom. The property has been referenced each time he tried to get released on bail—after the arrest and between his verdict and sentencing—where he proposed living there and offered it up as collateral.
MISRYOUM reached out to Diddy’s camp for comment, but no response has been received so far.

So basically they just… didn’t close? paperwork sounds like a cop out.
Idk why anyone would buy a Star Island mansion tied to him. Like even if it’s 55 mil, the whole mortgage/title mess has to be insane. Probably just delay tactics.
Wait I thought Diddy was the one selling it? But it’s “1 West Star Island LLC”… so Diddy’s company didn’t deliver the paperwork?? That’s wild. Also mediation clause doesn’t mean anything if the title is messed up, right?
This whole story is a circus. They raid the place, find weird stuff, and now it’s lawsuits about mortgages and the May 12 closing date. I’m sure he’s still somehow involved even if they say it’s just the LLC. February 2028 release too like ok sure.
