Anya Taylor-Joy is stepping into a new kind of danger—one that doesn’t come from monsters or a terrifying empty abyss, but from a con gone sideways at the worst possible time.

Apple TV has just released the trailer for Lucky. a slick seven-episode limited series that Taylor-Joy stars in and executive produces. The promise is already clear from the premise: this is the kind of story where one job landing “in a bit of a pickle” is enough to turn a planned hustle into a full-scale chase.

Lucky will premiere globally on Apple TV with its first two episodes on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. After that, new episodes arrive every Wednesday through August 19.

The series is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, written by Marissa Stapley. Lucky follows a con artist whose latest job goes wrong after a multimillion-dollar heist. From there. the stakes tighten fast: she goes on the run while both the FBI and a “pretty ticked off crime boss” close in. With the heat mounting. she has to confront her demons and find a way out before her mistakes catch up to her.

The cast leans hard into that blend of charm and threat. Alongside Taylor-Joy, the series includes Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr., and William Fichtner.

Behind the scenes. Lucky is built by Jonathan Tropper. the prolific creator behind Your Friends & Neighbors (also an Apple TV sensation with Jon Hamm). Tropper also wrote the next Star Wars movie. Starfighter. and serves as co-showrunner. writer. and executive producer through his Tropper Ink banner under his overall deal with Apple TV. Cassie Pappas executive produces and serves as co-showrunner alongside Tropper. Jonathan van Tulleken, who directed the pilot, also executive produces. Reese Witherspoon executive produces, with Lauren Neustadter executive producing for Hello Sunshine. Taylor-Joy executive produces through her production banner, LadyKiller.

The story’s momentum seems designed to run on pressure—first from the heist that breaks. then from the people hunting her down. With Lucky opening on July 15. 2026 and continuing weekly through August 19. Apple TV is clearly betting on Taylor-Joy’s talent for playing characters who look in control right up until the moment everything slips.

  1. Wait so it’s an FBI hunt but it’s still a con?? Seems confusing like how is the FBI the bad guy here lol

  2. Anya Taylor-Joy really can’t miss. But 7 episodes only? Kinda feels like it’s gonna be all chase, no explanation. Also the title Lucky… is it literally about luck or like it’s irony?

  3. FBI hunt ahead like it’s gonna match real events?? I swear I saw something similar on TikTok where they said she’s actually getting chased for a heist that happened in NY. Probably not true but man the timing is wild.

  4. So it premieres July 15, 2026 and then every Wednesday through August 19… that’s like forever for a limited series 😂 I’m guessing the “pretty ticked off crime boss” is basically the FBI in disguise or something. Love how they mention monsters and then don’t explain why that matters.
