Anna Faris says Melania joke vanished from Scary Movie 6

Anna Faris, returning as Cindy Campbell in “Scary Movie 6,” says a punchline tied to Melania Trump’s “Be Best” campaign was cut before release—even as her character keeps landing inside the movie’s sharp, MAGA-aimed satire. The film, which hit theaters June 5,
Anna Faris had already stepped back into Cindy Campbell’s skin when the details of what didn’t make the movie started to come back—clear as a punchline you can still hear in your head.
In “Scary Movie 6. ” the horror spoof returns Cindy as a recluse living in isolation. until she teams up with old friend Brenda (Regina Hall) to fight a new Ghostface. The film hit theaters on June 5. When Cindy and Brenda reunite, Cindy tells her, “I’m a Republican now, so I’m supposed to be racist.”.
Faris said her latest portrayal of Cindy is meant to “hold up a mirror to MAGA,” aligning the character’s behavior with the movie’s broader political satire.
But there was another beat—one that aimed at first lady Melania Trump—that almost landed on screen.
In an interview. Faris said a scene cut from the final version had a nod to Melania Trump’s “Be Best” campaign. She described the moment: Cindy is “just wasted. ” “just so drunk. ” then glances into her truck’s rearview mirror and delivers a line—“Be best. Cindy Campbell. be best. ” Faris said. She added, “That didn’t make it.”.
“Be Best” was a campaign launched by first lady Melania Trump in 2018 during her husband’s first presidency. It was aimed at promoting children’s well-being and anti-bullying.
Faris said Cindy’s character was intentionally political, and that she pushed for Cindy’s direction from the start. “I was always pushing for Cindy to be classic MAGA rabbit hole,” Faris said in a separate interview.
The humor, in Faris’s telling, isn’t random. Cindy Campbell—who is a spoof of Laurie Strode from 2018’s “Halloween”—was designed to be the kind of character who spirals and splinters under the weight of whatever slogans she’s been handed. Faris also emphasized Cindy’s frantic nature in another interview. saying that if anyone is going to “hold up a mirror to MAGA. to the quarantine. hardcore person who ‘did their research. ’ who spun out a bit. ” it’s Cindy Campbell.
That contrast—between what made it onto the screen and what got cut—hangs over the movie’s satire. The film’s released jokes still point squarely at MAGA. with Cindy declaring she’s “supposed to be racist. ” but Faris’s account suggests the script was willing to touch Melania Trump’s “Be Best” too. even if it ultimately didn’t survive the editing room.
For now, the version audiences can see begins with Cindy living alone, then pulling Brenda back into the fight against a new Ghostface—while the “Be best” joke remains the one line Faris says never found its way past the cut.

So they cut the Melania joke but kept the MAGA stuff?? Make it make sense.
Be Best Cindy Campbell??? That sounds like something I would’ve laughed at. Guess it was too political or something.
Wait so Cindy says she’s supposed to be racist and that’s the satire, but the Melania line got removed?? I’m confused like are they mad at Melania or what lol. Also “Ghostface” in a quarantine thing? the whole plot feels mashed.
This is why I don’t trust these comedy movies. They say it’s MAGA targeting but then you got Melania’s “Be Best” almost in there and then cut it like coward move. I’m sure it was edited for sensitivity or ratings or idk. Either way, Anna Faris used to be funnier when she wasn’t trying to make everything political.
