Anderson Cooper Laughs at Trump’s “T1” Phone Claim

Anderson Cooper briefly lost his composure while discussing Donald Trump’s UFC-themed commemorative coins and a Trump-branded “T1” phone claim, pushing back on the language tied to “American values” while noting the event date and pricing.

Anderson Cooper didn’t just read the headline—he reacted to it. In a clip shared on X, the longtime news host delivered a straight-faced rundown of Donald Trump’s latest money-making venture, before breaking into laughter when the segment turned to a Trump-branded “T1” phone.

The discussion began with Trump-themed commemorative coins connected to an upcoming UFC event. Cooper said the gold and silver coins—sold for as much as $11. 999.99—are referred to as Trump coins. described as “the official gold and silver of UFC 250.” The coins are being sold to commemorate the cage fight event scheduled for June 14.

Cooper then pivoted to how the UFC show is being staged. He pointed out that President Trump ordered the construction of the Octagon on the South Lawn of the White House for the upcoming UFC event. and he tied that timing to the date on the calendar: June 14 is the President’s 80th birthday. and the year also marks America’s 250th anniversary.

When Cooper reached the coins’ branding details, he paused again—this time for a different kind of disbelief. The host said the coins are “all designed by President Trump himself, which is amazing, where does he find the time?”

That joke opened the door to a broader sweep of Trump-branded products. Cooper mentioned that other items in the lineup include the Bible, sneakers, and a $499 gold-plated Trump phone that, he said, is now finally shipping after long delays.

The laughter returned when Cooper addressed how the phone is being marketed. He said the phones were originally marketed as “Made in the USA.” Now, he added, the promotion has shifted to “designed with American values in mind.”

At that point, Cooper let out a chuckle and a brief sigh, then apologized before continuing. He quoted the phrase—“Designed with American values in mind”—and pushed back on it directly. saying he doesn’t know what it means. Cooper suggested the idea was being explained in a way that didn’t quite match the story behind the contract. remarking that someone must have been thinking about America when the deal was signed to “hawk these.”.

He then referenced what “experts say,” saying the phones closely resemble a phone made in China, even as the newer marketing language claims American values were considered when the design was presented.

The clip ends with Cooper’s reaction serving as the punchline to the broader contrast he was pointing to: the high-priced, highly branded rollout connected to UFC 250 on June 14, alongside the disputed messaging around what counts as “American values” and what it’s based on.

  1. Cooper laughing is whatever but this is just marketing lol. Like Americans always been about branding. Also $499 gold-plated phone sounds fake though.

  2. I think the whole “American values” thing is just PR word salad. But didn’t Trump say “made in USA” first? So how do you go from made in USA to designed with American values??

  3. Not gonna lie the UFC Octagon on the White House lawn is the weirdest part. Like how is that not a security nightmare. And the coins/phone stuff is just cashing in on the date like June 14 is special or something. “Experts say” it looks like a China phone… well yeah probably, most phones are. Cooper laughing feels petty though, like he’s acting like he didn’t see it coming.
