Galaxy S24 Ultra wins poll for best Moto G Stylus alternative

A community poll found many readers would rather steer away from the two-year-old competition—surprisingly choosing Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra as the best alternative to the 2026 Moto G Stylus.

For all the talk about new releases. a lot of phone shoppers still have a clear favorite waiting in the wings. In a community poll built around alternatives to the Moto G Stylus (2026). Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra pulled the biggest lead—despite being released in 2024 and already having two years of momentum behind it.

The setup was simple: the latest Moto G Stylus lands at $500, and in the poll it was measured against five options you can get around that same price. Readers saw last year’s Moto G Stylus, the Google Pixel 10a, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the 2025 Moto Razr.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra won by a wide margin. It took 27% of the total vote, with 1,270 people saying it was the best alternative. The reason this result stuck is practical: while the Ultra launched in 2024. its specs still outperformed the Moto G Stylus on every front in the poll’s framing. It also comes with software support for longer than the 2026 Moto G Stylus. which is only guaranteed two Android version updates.

There’s another piece of the appeal tied to something more specific than benchmark bragging. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is also the last of Samsung’s phones to come with a Bluetooth-enabled active stylus—an important detail because the Ultra went head-to-head with the Moto G Stylus’s best feature. In other words. readers didn’t just choose a stronger spec sheet; they chose the better match for what they likely care about most.

The Pixel 10a landed in second place, but the gap was visible. It won nearly 20% of the vote, with 931 votes. The Pixel 10a beats the Moto G Stylus on general performance, camera quality, and software support, but it doesn’t come with a stylus.

Nothing’s Phone 4a Pro took third, pulling in 849 votes, or 18%. The poll highlighted its unique hardware design and versatile camera system as part of why it showed up so strongly.

Last year’s Moto G Stylus—despite costing $100 less and being nearly identical—didn’t catch on as much as you might expect. About 17% of respondents, 808 people, picked it as the best alternative to the 2026 model. Even more striking. the poll says the 2025 Moto G Stylus has a microSD card slot and a headphone jack. yet it still didn’t place higher than the pack.

At the back end of the results, the 2025 Moto Razr received 674 votes, about 14% of all responses.

By the end, the question for readers was unmistakable: Did you buy a Moto G Stylus (2026)? Or would you rather spend roughly $500 on something else?

  1. Lol $500 and people still want the S24 Ultra?? That makes no sense to me, I feel like Moto should be winning on price alone. Also what even is a 2026 Moto G Stylus if the poll is already picking older phones.

  2. Wait—wasn’t the Pixel supposed to be the best camera one? But they say it got second AND it doesn’t have a stylus, so like… are people buying phones for writing on them now? I’m confused. I thought phones are for calls and TikTok, not “active Bluetooth stylus” stuff.

  3. “Active stylus” is the only reason I’d even look at the Ultra. But who knows if this poll is real, it sounds like it’s just Samsung fans doing math. The article says Moto Razr and Moto G Stylus had headphone jack + microSD and still lost, so either nobody cares about that anymore or people didn’t read the choices. Also $100 less and “nearly identical”?? That part feels made up, because if it’s identical why would anyone buy the more expensive one.
