WWE Champion Chelsea Green’s Husband Shares Picture Of Brutal Torn Triceps Injury
Chelsea Green’s husband, fellow WWE Superstar Matt Cardona, suffered a torn triceps injury that will keep him on the shelf for a while.
Just a few months since his surprise WWE return, Chelsea Green’s husband, Matt Cardona, suffered an injury, putting him on the shelf with his wife.
He took to social media to reveal the injury. Cardona shared an image of his “swollen” arm, which occurred due to the injury. He suffered it during a dark match before the Aug. 21, 2026, edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

“I wish my arm was this jacked. Unfortunately, it’s just swollen because I tore my tricep in a match on Friday night. (I still went to the gym today and did legs) I’ll keep you updated. I’M NOT FINISHED,” he wrote.
Despite suffering the injury, he was able to complete leg day. Cardona suffered the same injury that Logan Paul did in May 2026 at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Unfortunately, Green and Cardona are both injured. Days after winning her first world championship, Green suffered a broken orbital bone.
Initially, it appeared WWE was going to strip her of the interim Women’s Championship. However, SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis gave her a month to get medically cleared. She has a few weeks to get back in the ring and defend her title.
Cardona, meanwhile, has only been back in WWE for a few months. He previously spent 15 years with the promotion from 2005 to 2020 before his release.
In October 2025, he made a one-off return in NXT as part of the TNA invasion storyline. The following month, he’d also compete in the “Last Time is Now” tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent. He would make his full-fledged return in January 2026.
It appeared he was going to feud with Gunther, who verbally attacked Green during the Aug. 14 edition of SmackDown. This led to the “Ring General” taking on Cardona while they were in their street clothes. Ultimately, Gunther won the match.
