‘Welcome to Derry’ star Taylour Paige reveals her Pennywise nickname

Fans have been wanting more of “IT: Welcome to Derry” since the epic Season 1 finale last December. The show is based on Stephen King’s novel and serves as a prequel to the 2017 and 2019 “IT” movies.
Throughout the first season, viewers watched as Pennywise caused chaos among the residents of Derry, Maine, in 1962. But there’s more history to unpack about the shapeshifting clown.

Will there be a Season 2 of ‘IT: Welcome to Derry’?
This week, Warner Bros. announced that the horror series was greenlit for a second season.
“Continuing to explore and expand on the amazing world Stephen King created is an absolute privilege,” executive producers Andy and Barbara Muschietti said in a press release. “The support of our partners at HBO and Warner Bros. Television is priceless. Boy do we love our jobs!”
What will ‘IT: Welcome to Derry’ Season 2 be about?
In a 2025 interview with Variety, Andy Muschietti teased that the story will be told backward within three seasons. It aligns with “the three critical cycles of Pennywise, which are 1962, 1935, and 1908,” the filmmaker stated.
Per Warner Bros.’ press release, Season 2 is set in 1935 during the Great Depression.
The next installment will narrow in “on the bloody massacre of the Bradley Gang, a group of bank robbers who stop in Derry to buy ammo and end up facing unimaginable horror,” the logline states.

“IT: Welcome to Derry” shattered debut viewership records on HBO Max. It is among the top series premieres in the platform’s history, according to the press release.
Taylour Paige, who played Charlotte Hanlon in Season 1, spoke on the show’s impact in an interview with USA TODAY.
“Stephen King … he’s given us so much. I also think we did great work,” she said. “Pennywise is an icon, and I think Bill Skarsgård is an icon. All the amazing people I worked with gave it their all.”
