If the Golden State Valkyries plan to ride into the FIBA break on a four-game winning streak, they’ll have to contend with a depleted roster, and the upstart Portland Fire.
Portland won’t be whole either, with the starting backcourt that just upended Atlanta also off to their national teams at the World Cup in Berlin.

Valkyries vs Fire best bet: Under 158.5 -110
The Golden State Valkyries will lose three of their Top 4 scorers — Gabby Williams, Janelle Salaün and Cecilia Zandalasini — to international duty.
The Portland Fire are also depleted, losing leading scorer Carla Leite and starter Megan DiLeo — who combined for 42 points in the Fire’s 101-83 road upset of Atlanta — putting an end to the Dream’s four-game win streak.
That’s a major hit to an eighth-ranked offense now facing a Valkyries defense allowing a WNBA-best 75.6 points per game.
With both teams losing key scoring, Golden State’s elite defense should dictate the matchup.
I’d play the Under down to 155.5.

Veronica Burton has been an assist machine of late, picking up at least seven assists in four of the last five. But without the star power to keep well-fed, this number slides down in favor of her scoring.
Bridget Carleton will get plenty of shots on Sunday. The second-leading scorer on the team should be the featured bucket-getter, and the Fire forward should be incentivized after dropping just four points against Atlanta.
