Usher’s Jenn Goicoechea Love Story Turns to Family

Usher relationship – From the first spark with Jennifer “Jenn” Goicoechea in 2019 to the couple’s daughter in 2020 and their family growing in 2021, Usher’s romance has unfolded in public—while his past marriages with Tameka Foster and Grace Harry remain part of the story. Here’s

When Usher and Jennifer “Jenn” Goicoechea stepped onto the 2026 Tony Awards red carpet arm in arm. it was the kind of moment fans instantly latched onto—glamour. yes. but also unmistakable partnership. The couple has been together long enough now that their relationship reads less like a headline and more like a life in motion.

Usher and Jenn, who wed in 2024, were at theatre’s biggest night together. It wasn’t the first upscale outing they’d shared, either. The romance rumors started back in 2019. according to PEOPLE. after the two were spotted at producer Keith Thomas’ 40th birthday party in the summer—an appearance that turned into the moment fans began connecting the dots.

Jenn is an internet personality. and her Instagram bio points to her role in music business as well—she lists herself as the “SVP of A&R. Epic Records.” By 2020. the relationship moved into something more permanent: Usher and Jenn welcomed their daughter. Sovereign Bo. in September 2020. In September 2021, their family expanded again with the birth of their son, Sire Castrello Raymond.

Long before red carpets became their shared calendar, Usher was already sharing Jenn in his own way. He often posts photos of her online, and he has spoken about her directly in interviews. In November 2023. he told PEOPLE about their bond: “I have an amazing partner. a support system.” He added. “I’m very happy. very fortunate to have an incredible friend. not just a partner. She’s my best friend and I love her.”.

The momentum kept building around the time of his big 2024 spotlight. Shortly before Usher performed at the February 2024 Super Bowl, the same publication reported that he and Jenn had obtained a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada.

But even as his relationship with Jenn has become the center of his personal timeline, Usher’s past marriages are woven through his story.

About four years before he married Jenn in 2024, Usher was already navigating a different chapter. He married his second wife, Grace Harry (née Miguel), in 2015. That marriage was short-lived. In December 2018. Usher officially filed for divorce from Grace. and while it ended legally in 2018. their breakup was listed as December 2017.

After that separation. the ex-couple released a statement saying. “After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple.” They added. “We remain deeply connected. loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives.” Grace and Usher did not welcome children together. Grace later moved on with Questlove, though that romance also fizzled out.

Then there’s Usher’s first marriage, which came earlier still. He married Tameka Foster in 2007, and the two stayed together until 2009. Tameka is now 53, and while their marriage didn’t last, their connection didn’t disappear—because they share two children. Usher and Tameka welcomed their first son. Usher “Cinco” V. in November 2007. and later welcomed their second son. Naviyd Ely. in December 2008.

Their relationship after marriage turned complicated during a custody fight. In 2013, the ex-spouses got into a heated custody battle over their two sons. The dispute ended that year, and Usher won custody of their kids at the time. In the Atlanta courtroom. both sides made claims about each other: Tameka accused him of being an absent father. while Usher denied her allegations. After the case was closed. PEOPLE reported that Usher and Tameka reportedly hugged. and that he even told her. “I’m sorry.”.

In 2010, Usher had already shared his feelings about the end of that marriage with PEOPLE. “I appreciate the relationship for what it was,” he said. “Even though it didn’t work out, I’m glad we got together. I love her as the mother of my children; we just couldn’t be married.”

Their co-parenting has also had its own public moments. In November 2023, Usher and Tameka reunited for their son’s 16th birthday. Tameka took to Instagram and shared family photos showing their little ones alongside their father. In the caption. she wrote. “I LOVE you to Life son @cincoye ~May God continue to love. guide and protect you.”.

Even with the relationship history fully on the record. the most recent public warmth has been on display in another way too. In February 2024, Tameka told Page Six that Usher invited her to watch his Super Bowl halftime performance. “One of the perks of having Usher as an ex is going to the Super Bowl,” Tameka told the outlet. “It’s facts. I’m not dating anybody that can’t take me to the Super Bowl. That would not be my trajectory. But seeing Usher performing was definitely a perk.”.

The throughline is clear in what Usher shares and what his partners choose to show: whether it’s romance. family. or moving forward together. his relationships have never lived only in private. And now. with Jenn by his side on a Tony Awards red carpet in 2026—and with their marriage in 2024. their children born in 2020 and 2021—this chapter is firmly rooted in the present.

  1. So they were together since 2019 and only now it’s “a love story”? Congrats I guess.

  2. Wait he’s married to Jenn already?? I thought Usher just dated her and that bio thing like “SVP of A&R Epic Records” means she works for Disney or something lol.

  3. Tony Awards red carpet and they’re acting like this is the first time Usher ever had a relationship. But they said their kids were in 2020 and 2021 so like… was the wedding in 2024 just for cameras? Not that there’s anything wrong, I’m just confused.

  4. I keep seeing these People articles and it’s always “spark” “support system” “best friend” like ok sure. Also his past marriages are mentioned but it feels like they’re trying to erase that part? Like, he had Tameka and Grace before, so how is this “turns to family” if it’s basically the same timeline? Anyway Sovereign Bo and Sire Castrello Raymond… those names are wild.
