USA TODAY Network readies coffee table book for 250th

As the nation approaches its 250th birthday, the USA TODAY Network is putting hundreds of America’s most iconic landscapes and landmarks into a commemorative coffee table book—capturing sights from major engineering feats to seaside cliffs and historic streets
When America turns 250, the celebration won’t just be confined to museum walls. It will ride along back roads and highway exits, appear in mountain valleys and along sea cliffs, and live in the kind of view you only notice because it stops you mid-sentence.
The USA TODAY Network is preparing a commemorative coffee table book built around that idea: that some of the country’s greatest treasures aren’t behind glass. The publication aims to capture “the spirit of America” through several hundred locations. ranging from culturally significant landmarks to natural wonders and roadside attractions.
The roster includes sweeping scenes that readers may recognize instantly—places such as the Hoover Dam and Lady Liberty—along with other “Most Treasured Views in America for 2026” scheduled for inclusion. The project describes itself as a way to show how those images connect the nation’s past. present and future. encouraging travelers to look at the country “one unforgettable view. roadside attraction. historic landmark and natural wonder at a time.”.
The effort also centers on timing. With the semiquincentennial approaching. the network says it has collected these locations with the hope that the book will push more people to see America firsthand. not just recognize it from afar. Many of the photos and locations captured for the series will be “commemorated” in the soon-to-be published coffee table book. with readers being asked to purchase a copy now.
A single book can’t capture the whole scale of a country like the United States. But this one is clearly designed to do something more modest and immediate: make attention travel-worthy—turning breathtaking stops into a curated, illustrated roadmap for how America looks at 250.
Readers can also “read more of the series through the links below,” as the publication continues building toward the coffee table book’s release.

Coffee table book for a birthday? Just call it ads with extra steps lol.
So they’re charging people for pictures they could’ve just looked up online? But I guess it’s nice to have Lady Liberty and the Hoover Dam in one place.
Wait, is this like a tourist map? Because I read “Most Treasured Views in America for 2026” and thought it meant they picked locations for real travel guides. If it’s only photos, that’s kinda pointless, no?
America doesn’t need a book to tell us what’s famous… we’ve had Google for years. Also 250th birthday of what, like the country or the newspaper? I’m confused. If they want people to travel, put it online free and stop making it sound like a “roadside attraction” is some hidden secret.
