Trump to rally in Texas for endorsed candidate Ken Paxton

Trump rally – President Donald Trump said he plans to hold “nice, big, beautiful rallies” in Texas for Attorney General Ken Paxton, setting up a high-stakes boost for a hardliner in the state’s U.S. Senate race runoff against Texas Rep. James Talarico. Trump’s comments came

President Donald Trump didn’t just reaffirm support for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton—he promised to bring the spotlight to the Lone Star State.

In an interview with Lara Trump’s “My View” on Fox News. posted to YouTube on May 31. Trump said he would go out and rally for Paxton. who is facing Texas Rep. James Talarico in the November general election runoff for a U.S. Senate seat. The president also linked the trip to an earlier commitment he posted on his Truth Social account. saying he would do “nice. big. beautiful rallies” for Paxton.

“ I think Ken Paxton is going to absolutely just destroy him (Talarico),” Trump said in the interview. He followed with: “I’m gonna go ahead and go out and do rallies for him.” Trump also described Talarico as a “disaster candidate.”

As of now, neither Trump nor the White House has released official dates for any Texas rally.

Paxton’s challenger has been crisscrossing the state with his own message. Talarico, who is facing Paxton in the runoff, recently wrapped up a five-city bus tour, “The People vs. Ken Paxton” tour. The tour was aimed at “introducing” voters to Paxton, whom Talarico called “the most corrupt politician in America.”.

In a news release. Talarico—an Austin Democrat—made the stakes personal and economic. saying. “If ‘We the People’ can come together to defeat the ‘Most Corrupt Politician in America. ’ we can defeat this entire corrupt system.” He added: “We can start unrigging this economy. We can start raising our pay, cutting our taxes, lowering our costs. We can finally get ahead. It’s time to come together: The People vs. Ken Paxton.”.

The conflict between the two approaches—Trump’s assurance that Paxton will “destroy” his opponent and Talarico’s corruption-focused campaign—lands at a moment when Texas Republicans are locking in for a Senate matchup that will determine who represents the state in the U.S. Senate.

Beyond Paxton, Trump’s endorsements in Texas span multiple races. He backed Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who secured the GOP nomination for the November general election. He also endorsed Sid Miller. the state’s agriculture commissioner. in his bid for reelection. though Miller lost the March Republican primary to challenger Nate Sheets.

Trump’s involvement also extends to other runoff races, as previously reported in reporting tied to Trump’s backed candidates. Those include Alex Mealer in the Texas 9th Congressional District runoff election against Texas State Rep. Briscoe Cain; Carlos De La Cruz in the Texas 35th Congressional District runoff election against Texas State Rep. John Lujan; and Jon Bonck in the Texas 38th Congressional District runoff election against Shelly deZevallos.

For now, the key unknown is timing. Trump’s rally promise—stated in a May 31 interview and echoed in his Truth Social post—has not been accompanied by any confirmed Texas dates. Still. with Paxton facing Talarico’s sustained push after a five-city tour. Trump’s personal campaign stop could become the kind of late momentum shift that voters notice immediately in the final stretch toward November.

  1. I don’t get it, is this for the Senate seat or the attorney general thing? They keep mixing names in the headline. Either way Paxton is getting a whole spotlight.

  2. They say “dates not released” but of course he’s doing rallies, right. Also calling Talarico a disaster candidate sounds like the usual. Not sure how “rallies” actually help with corruption claims though. Feels like just a show for the base.

  3. If Paxton’s getting destroyed then why run a whole runoff? Like doesn’t that mean he’s already losing? I saw something about a bus tour but then it’s about money and economy and unrigging?? Sounds like both sides are just throwing accusations and hoping it sticks.
