Trade on the updated World Series odds at Kalshi following the MLB trade deadline
The number of deals leading up to the 2026 Major League Baseball trade deadline was in the neighborhood of 40 on the final day alone. The Los Angeles Dodgers’ acquisition of Detroit pitcher Tarik Skubal was the big move, as L.A. added to its reputation as the current Evil Empire.
After so many transactions, the 2026 World Series winner odds shifted on Kalshi, a prediction market platform for trading sports futures. The Dodgers remained the most popular team at the top of the Pro Baseball Champion market.
Now that the top teams have locked in the core of their rosters for the stretch run in the regular season and the playoffs, it’s a good time to start trading on World Series winners.

There is a gulf between the Dodgers and the team with the second-best odds — the New York Yankees, the Evil Empire of the past. The National League occupies five of the top eight spots, but there are values from both circuits.

Top World Series contenders at Kalshi
Los Angeles Dodgers
With the acquisition of Skubal, Los Angeles is in an even better position to become the first team since the 1998-2000 Yankees to win three consecutive World Series titles. Taking another trophy would mark the Dodgers as a dynasty in the mold of the 90s Yankees, who also dominated with stacked rosters.
New York Yankees
New York has tied its second-longest championship drought in team history at 16 seasons, which is the longest since 1903 to 1922.
The Yankees are in a strong position to make the playoffs again. When Cody Bellinger and hopefully Aaron Judge return, they will be ready to make another push for the American League pennant.
Acquiring Luis Garcia Jr. and Heliot Ramos further bolsters the lineup, and the pitching staff leads the AL with a 3.37 ERA.
Milwaukee Brewers
The “Brew Crew” has never won a World Series or an NL pennant. Milwaukee, however, leads the majors with a 3.37 ERA, and the staff got even deeper at the trade deadline.
Youth powers the offense and defense, and this team can make a deep playoff run even if it appears to be a year away from getting to its second World Series and first since 1982.
Boston Red Sox
The Yankees’ eternal rivals could have a good chance of beating them out for the AL pennant. The hottest team in the game won 21 of 25 games in July and even swept the Dodgers on the road while winning 15 of their last 16 away games.
The trade deadline acquisition of Baltimore catcher Adley Rutschman improves the postseason outlook.
Atlanta Braves
The Braves might win the NL East barring a meltdown on the way to the playoffs, but with injuries haunting the rotation, they might not have a shot at knocking off the Dodgers.
There was hope that the team would make some more notable moves at the trade deadline.
Philadelphia Phillies
Even if the Phils don’t catch the Braves for the division crown, they might be a bigger threat to the Dodgers in the postseason. The arrival of two-time former batting champ Luis Arraez could help the offense maintain more consistency, and the pitching staff features proven performers.
Tampa Bay Rays
This could be a good value pick, as the AL is not just about the Yankees and Red Sox. Pitcher Liam Hicks might turn out to be one of the most underrated trade deadline acquisitions.
If pitcher Freddy Peralta returns to form, the Rays will be a tough out, especially with slugger Junior Caminero ready for the postseason spotlight.
Chicago Cubs
Another value play to consider, the Cubs were aggressive at the deadline, most notably adding Kevin Gausman and Clay Holmes to the pitching staff. The lineup already has its key performers in place, and the overall depth was improved near the deadline.
