Three shot after Sem Yeto graduation in Fairfield

Three people were shot shortly after a Sem Yeto High School graduation ceremony ended at Fairfield High School’s Schafer Stadium on Wednesday evening, according to city and school officials. The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement remains on campus.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Suisun City Mayor Alma Hernandez reported that an active shooter was on the scene at Fairfield High School’s Schafer Stadium, where the Sem Yeto High School graduation was being held.
In a Facebook post, Hernandez said three individuals had been shot and that the investigation was ongoing. She urged anyone with information to contact the Fairfield Police Department at (707) 428-7300, adding, “Our hearts go out to the families of the victims.”
A spokesperson for the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District said a shooting took place after the Sem Yeto High School graduation ceremonies had ended. Law enforcement is on campus. the spokesperson said in a statement. and because it was an active investigation. there was no additional information to share at that time. “Our thoughts are with the individuals affected and as soon as we have more details we will share that with you. ” the spokesperson said.
By 8:45 p.m., the Fairfield Police Department had not released a statement, and a spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The situation remains fluid, and officials said they would provide updates as more details become available.
