Taylor Swift Breaks Records With ‘I Knew It’

Taylor Swift’s new track “I Knew It, I Knew You” made an immediate splash across streaming platforms, setting multiple first-day records and pairing with a Toy Story 5-themed music video featuring Jessie—setting up a June 19 theatrical countdown.

Taylor Swift doesn’t wait for the hype cycle to catch up. Just a day after “I Knew It, I Knew You” landed, the song was already stacking up record numbers across major streaming services—complete with a Toy Story 5 tie-in that takes the story off the screen and into her sound.

Spotify announced that on June 5, 2026, the track became the most-streamed country song in a single day by a female artist in the platform’s history. The timing was clear, the achievement immediate, and the spotlight landed firmly on Swift’s latest pivot into a different lane—at least on paper.

Apple Music backed it up with its own milestone. The service revealed the song set the all-time record for the biggest soundtrack single by first-day streams, and also became its biggest country song debut of 2026.

Amazon Music added another marker to the first-day run: it reported the track earned the platform’s largest 24-hour streaming debut for any song globally this year.

Swift also released a music video for “I Knew It. I Knew You. ” and it leans into the Toy Story universe through Jessie. the beloved cowgirl character from the franchise. In the video. footage tied to Jessie connects the song directly to the character—making the release feel less like a standalone single and more like an invitation into the movie’s world.

On Instagram, Swift framed the track as both a detour and a homecoming. “Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time.”

She continued, “Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a Toy Story kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.”

“I Knew It, I Knew You” is set to be featured in Toy Story 5, which arrives in theaters on June 19. Until then, Swift’s first-day performance on streaming is doing what it does best: turning a release into an event—fast.

  1. I don’t get how they’re calling it a “country song” when it sounds like regular pop to me. Also the Toy Story thing feels like marketing to me, not music.

  2. Wait, reply to Jessie?? Like the singer is literally Jessie now? I saw a headline that said “Taylor Swift breaks records” and I assumed it was like… Grammy records or something, not streaming daily stuff.

  3. Spotify says it was the most-streamed country song in a single day by a female artist. But then Apple said all-time biggest soundtrack single first-day streams? Are these numbers even apples to apples or just different math depending on the app? Either way she’s everywhere and I guess Toy Story 5 is gonna be the big thing June 19.
