Steve Bannon Warns GOP Could Lose Senate in 2026

Steve Bannon, the former Trump adviser and convicted fraudster, used his “War Room” podcast to predict Republicans will lose Senate control in the fall ahead of the 2026 midterm elections—blaming weak voter outreach and urging a “showdown” with Senate Republic
On Thursday, Steve Bannon sounded less like a commentator and more like a man trying to shock his party awake. Speaking on a “War Room” podcast episode. the former first-term Trump White House chief strategist delivered a blunt prediction for the road ahead: Republicans are “going to lose the Senate in the fall anyway.”.
Bannon’s message landed in a political climate already heavy with worry inside GOP ranks. Many political observers have forecast that the GOP could lose control of the House in November. But Bannon—now known for his MAGA podcasting—suggested the damage could stretch beyond the lower chamber. warning that the Senate majority could fall as well.
He framed the problem as both strategy and loyalty. Bannon called for what he described as a “showdown” with Senate Republicans. arguing they are treating President Donald Trump worse than a lame duck. The line underscored the central tension of Bannon’s worldview: not just winning elections. but disciplining an internal party disagreement over how forcefully GOP lawmakers should align with Trump.
Bannon then pivoted to what he said Republicans are doing—or not doing—on the ground. Nobody in the GOP. he argued. is “excited about going door to door and doing voter engagement.” In his telling. that lack of hustle is colliding with a new reality for campaign spending. The “old way” of trying to buy influence with “a couple hundred million dollars” on TV ads on Fox and CNN. he said. doesn’t work anymore.
“That’s old school. Does not work. There’s been a new day,” Bannon added, insisting the Senate has to understand it or face the same fate he predicted: “or we’re going to lose the Senate.”
Bannon’s comments came alongside another line he has repeatedly pushed: he has called for Trump to serve an unconstitutional third term. In the podcast frame he chose. that fixation and his election warning fit together—an insistence that the political fight isn’t only electoral. but constitutional and personal.
In a later segment, he widened the warning again. He criticized Republicans for what he described as poor voter outreach. saying the party could face a tough time at the ballot box amid backlash to the Trump administration. The prediction sharpened into a direct warning meant to sound like inevitability: “You’re going to lose the Senate. And right now, it looks like you want to lose the Senate.”.
Steve Bannon War Room podcast 2026 midterm elections GOP Senate voter outreach Trump administration Fox and CNN ads lame duck
Bannon talks like he’s always right but then why does he keep getting convicted??
So basically he’s mad they won’t kiss Trump’s ring hard enough? Also he said door to door like it’s 1995 lol.
I swear this is just fear-mongering to stay relevant. Like if they lose Senate it’s because of Fox and CNN ads? I thought elections were about the economy not whatever Bannon says on that War Room thing. And the third term stuff… doesn’t that mean he wants Trump to break rules??
Door to door doesn’t work either, people ignore you now. It sounds like Bannon blaming voters outreach but he’s also the same guy pushing the whole third term idea which is like… constitutional meltdown. If Senate really falls in 2026 then that’s on the party, not on some “old way” TV ads thing. Also did they say “showdown” like a fight?? seems unhinged, but watch everyone pretend it’s normal.
