Alec and Stephen Baldwin ‘safe and well’ after car crashes into tree
Actors Alec and Stephen Baldwin were involved in a car crash in East Hampton, New York. No one was injured, and both brothers have confirmed that they’re safe.

Stephen Baldwin is chasing a different kind of calling.
The “Flintstones” actor, 60, opened up about his decision to step back from fame in a People magazine interview on Aug. 2. The youngest brother of Daniel, William and Alec Baldwin characterized at least part of his falling back from Hollywood as a way to free himself from industry expectations.
“I probably could have pointed myself in the direction of becoming a big star. But that wasn’t me,” he told the outlet.
“I didn’t want to be Tom Cruise, and have to make $100 million at the box office. I’d rather be a schmuck from Massapequa,” he added, referring to the suburban area in Long Island, New York City, where the Baldwins are from. “I’m good at that!”

The “Usual Suspects” star, who is now a Christian speaker and founder of multiple ministry organizations, recalled the moment this professional pivot first occurred to him. In 2001, a woman from Brazil whom his wife, Kennya, hired to live with and work for them had passed along a prediction.
“One day, Kennya and Augusta were talking and she said, ‘I think it’s funny you believe I’m here to clean your house,'” Baldwin recalled, noting the woman had a “prophetic vision” when she learned the couple was looking for help. “My wife tells me, ‘I just spoke to Augusta, and she said the real reason she’s here is because God spoke to her, and she said in the future you and I will become born-again Christians and have our own ministry.'”
Though Baldwin was skeptical, the prophecy eventually came true after witnessing an evangelical skating event and wanting to get involved, later producing the Christian skateboarding video “Livin It.”
“In the first six months we’d distributed 10,000 copies,” he told the outlet. “Then one of the bigger churches called and asked what it would cost to bring the skaters from the video to their church for a live event. So that’s when I left Hollywood.”
Today, Baldwin, the father of Hailey Baldwin Bieber and Alaia Baldwin Aronow, still works with skating ministries and wants to produce more Christian films. He also has not stopped acting, with his work largely focused on religious or Christian-leaning projects. But Baldwin admitted that his outspoken faith and politics (he voted for President Donald Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024) have made some people think “I act a little too weird.”
Regardless, he told the outlet that he no longer desires attention from the masses.
“I’ve done 100 movies, I’ve made more money that I could have wildly imagined, and I’m married to the hottest chick I’ve ever seen in my life,” he said. “Jesus is my rock. My wife is my anchor. I’ve had the most amazing life and I’m only 60. I’m just waiting for more doors open that I’m supposed to walk through.”
