Star Wars Zero Company Launches August 27, Avoiding September

A new leak pins Star Wars Zero Company for an August 27 PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S release—just before a crowded September full of major launches. The Standard Edition is listed at $49.99 and the Deluxe at $59.99, with Deluxe contents unconfirmed.

On a Tuesday that looks a lot like any other, a date has started doing the rounds: August 27. If the latest leak holds. Star Wars Zero Company won’t wait for the wave of fall releases—it will step onto shelves and into libraries just a few days before September turns into a bottleneck for big-budget games.

The timing is where the story gets sharper. The same leak says the game is headed to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on August 27, arriving as publishers scramble to get ahead of an increasingly busy September packed with releases aiming to get out of the way of GTA 6.

The editions follow the same “be there early” logic. Star Wars Zero Company is listed with a $49.99 Standard Edition, available in both physical and digital formats. A $59.99 Deluxe Edition is also listed, but it’s described as digital-only. What that Deluxe bundle includes is still unconfirmed, and the leak specifically suggests it won’t offer early access.

The story behind the release date is tied to a game that’s already been teed up with a cinematic promise. Star Wars Zero Company is being developed by XCOM veterans at Bit Reactor. assisted by Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order staff at Respawn Entertainment. and published by EA. A trailer frames the setting as the Star Wars saga’s Clone Wars, centered on an elite group of mercenaries. That pitch includes at least one lightsaber-wielding individual and a Mandalorian.

The description also sets up a leader at the center of the chaos: Hawks. a former Republic officer who leads Zero Company—an unconventional outfit of professionals for hire hailing from across the galaxy. The blurb for the game says it’s a “single-player turn-based tactics game” developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. It continues with the idea of stepping into the “twilight of the Clone Wars. ” where Hawks and his team are pulled into an operation against an emerging threat that will consume the galaxy if left unchecked.

The path to victory, as the game’s pitch lays it out, isn’t smooth. Hawks must lead a team of uneasy allies who need to set aside their differences to overcome nearly impossible odds.

All of that is supposed to land in late August. and it does so right next to the calendar math the industry never admits out loud: when September gets stacked. visibility becomes a fight. Star Wars Zero Company’s late-August release is framed as a smart move because September already includes The Blood of the Dawnwalker. Warhammer 40. 000: Dawn of War 4. Marvel’s Wolverine. Dune: Awakening. Control Resonant. Silent Hill: Townfall. Onimusha: Way of the Sword. and the Switch 2 port of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Rayman Legends is also listed for October 1.

More details about Star Wars Zero Company are expected to be revealed tomorrow during the Summer Game Fest showcase. For now, the leak keeps the focus on two things players tend to care about most when the schedule tightens: when they can play, and which version lets them jump in.

If August 27 is the real start date, it won’t just be another addition to the Star Wars lineup—it will be a deliberate escape from September’s stampede.
