Spencer Pratt Leads as LA Mayor Runoff Takes Shape

Tuesday’s Los Angeles mayoral voting has set up a November runoff, with Karen Bass already advancing and Spencer Pratt holding a lead over Nithya Raman in the latest count.
For the third morning after votes were cast in the Los Angeles mayoral race, the question on everyone’s mind isn’t just who’s ahead—it’s how close this race is to slipping out of any single candidate’s control.
A vote took place for the Los Angeles Mayoral race on Tuesday. June 2. and as results trickle in. the updated landscape is starting to sharpen. The election process runs on a simple rule: the top two candidates move on to a November runoff election. A candidate needs at least 50% of the vote from Tuesday’s election to win the mayoral seat outright. If no one hits that threshold, the top two face each other in November’s general election.
So far, it does not look like there will be one candidate who receives 50% of the vote.
In the 2026 Los Angeles mayor race, Karen Bass has secured her spot in the November 3 runoff election. She will either face TV personality Spencer Pratt or City Councilmember Nithya Raman—depending on how the remaining votes shake out.
At the moment, Spencer Pratt appears to be holding the edge. The latest numbers show Pratt leading Nithya Raman, with Pratt at 29.9% of the vote and Raman at 22.8%. Bass, who has advanced to the next election cycle, sits at 35.0%.
Counting isn’t anywhere near finished. There are still hundreds of thousands of votes left to count, and it’s unclear when counting will be completed.
That uncertainty is part of what makes the race feel so unsettled. With no clear path to a 50% winner and with Bass already in position for November 3, the real tension right now is whether Pratt’s lead over Raman holds steady—or tightens enough to change who stands across from Bass.
On the celebrity side, Pratt has also built attention through endorsements. A list of celebrities—including some Oscar winners—has supported Pratt, underscoring how much star power is moving alongside vote totals.
For now. the math is in motion. the ballots are still being counted. and the final pairing for November’s runoff isn’t official. What is clear is that Tuesday’s results have already set up a high-stakes sprint: Bass secured a place. and Spencer Pratt’s lead over Nithya Raman will be tested until the last votes are tallied.

Wait so Pratt is leading but it still goes to November? Sounds like they’re all just guessing until the end.
I saw Karen Bass is already in, so this is basically just who gets the sympathy slot vs her. Spencer Pratt at 29.9% is still kinda low though, why would he even be “ahead” lol.
Endorsements matter more than people think. If Oscars are backing him that should swing it, right? Also “hundreds of thousands” left to count feels like an excuse every time, like what’s the hold up.
This is why I don’t trust LA elections, it’s always delays and “still counting.” Also Spencer Pratt being a TV person makes me think he’s gonna win by hype, not votes, but the numbers are all over the place so who knows. Bass at 35% means she’s basically already mayor, right?
