Pokémon Champions lands on iOS and Android June 17

Pokémon Champions, which debuted on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in April, is coming to iOS and Android on June 17. Mobile players can continue with existing saves via the same Nintendo account, join cross-platform play, and claim a free Raichu if they log in

By the time June 17 rolls around, Pokémon Champions will finally be where a lot of handheld players already live: in their pockets.

The Pokémon battle game. which debuted on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 back in April. is set to launch on iOS and Android on June 17. For anyone who has been playing on a Nintendo console already, the handoff to mobile won’t start from scratch. Linking the mobile version of the game to the same Nintendo account carries your save data over. and the game offers full cross-platform play.

The move to mobile matters because Pokémon Champions isn’t built like a quick spin-off. It’s positioned in the style of Pokémon Stadium, where players move between battles, rosters, and competition options. The game supports Pokémon Home. letting you transfer in Pokémon you’ve captured in previous games. and Pokémon Go is also supported.

Players can recruit Pokémon in Pokémon Champions, and the game doesn’t just stop at online battles. Alongside ranked battles, there’s a casual mode, private lobbies, and online competitions. Victory points are part of the loop. too—earned wins can be spent to boost Pokémon stats. switch up move sets. and unlock cosmetic items.

There’s also a time-bound incentive for the launch window. All players who log into Pokémon Champions between June 16 and September 1 will be able to claim Raichu for free. They’ll also receive two mega stones that let Raichu mega evolve into Mega Raichu Y or Mega Raichu X.

From Switch and Switch 2 in April to iOS and Android on June 17, Pokémon Champions is moving from console-only competition into a broader ecosystem—without asking players to abandon the progress they’ve already made.

  1. Wait “Switch 2” people are acting like that’s a thing everybody has lol. If I can keep my saves then sure, but I still don’t trust mobile games not to reset you.

  2. Free Raichu if you log in?? June 16 to September 1… so like do you have to already own the game or literally just download it? Also Mega Raichu Y and X sounds like they’re just selling stones later.

  3. Cross-platform play on phones is gonna be a nightmare, right? Like controller folks vs thumb folks… I’m sure it’ll be fine but ranked + private lobbies + victory points + cosmetics is just too much going on. Also “supports Pokémon Home” doesn’t that mean you need Pokémon Go first or it won’t transfer? idk.
