The Seahawks placed safety Bud Clark and offensive lineman Mason Richman on injured reserve Tuesday, two days after they both suffered significant injuries in Seattle’s preseason loss to the Titans.

With three open spots on the 90-man roster—the Seahawks previously had one open spot having waived running back Anthony Hankerson on Monday—the Seahawks signed tackle Derrick Graham, safety Tysheem Johnson and running back Justin Jones.

Clark, a second-round pick in this year’s draft, broke his ankle on Seattle’s first defensive snap, while Richman, a 2025 draft pick who was an important, versatile depth piece on Seattle’s line, limped off the field in the first quarter with what ended up being a serious injury. Theirs were the second and third significant injuries to come out of Seattle’s trip to Nashville, with receiver Jake Bobo going on injured reserve Saturday due to a knee injury suffered in Friday’s joint practice with the Titans.

“We had two really tough injuries today,” Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said after the game. “Bud has a broken ankle to my knowledge, the severity I’m not sure, but he’s going to be out multiple months. Then we’re going to try to figure out what’s going on with Mason, but we also think that’s a major injury, a long-term injury. Two guys that we love that play our style of ball that are our type of guys. Teammates love them, great teammates, great guys, great football players, they have great futures. It’s a heartbreaker, honestly. We got three heartbreakers this weekend, which is tough.”

Jones, an undrafted rookie out of Auburn, spent time with the Seahawks earlier in camp and played in Seattle’s preseason opener, gaining 3 yards on one rush attempt. Johnson, who went undrafted out of Oregon in 2025, spent training camp and the preseason with the Bears last year, then joined Atlanta’s practice squad late in the season. Graham, an undrafted rookie out of Tulane, spent time with Houston during the offseason before being waived early in training camp. Graham’s father, Derrick Graham Sr., played nine seasons in the NFL, including two seasons for the Seahawks in which he started 25 games at guard from 1996-1997.
