Scotland fans set sail from Boston for Haiti opener

This is the moment when Scotland fans headed off on a party boat in Boston as fans geared up for our World Cup opener. The Tartan Army headed down to Rowes Wharf on Saturday morning as hundreds of excited fans boarded the aptly named ‘Freedom’ vessel. The three-hour cruise includes an open bar , with fans lining their stomachs with sandwiches before starting on the early lagers. North East Tartan Army chief Chris Gibson organised the cruise for the supporters. Speaking to the Record, the

50-year-old said: “We have 200 of the guys on board. It’s an open bar – which I am worried about. I hope they have enough beer! “We’ve done nine all over Europe. So this is the first one outside of Europe. “The weather is amazing, it’s going to be a brilliant trip.” Most of the fans donned the new away strip as they cheered and sang songs while boarding the boat. As the ship set sail at 11am local time, the captain delighted the revellers

by blasting “Freed from Desire,” with fans instead cheering “Scotland’s on fire!” After 28 years of waiting, Scotland will kick off in a World Cup match tonight. The game against Haiti takes place nine hours after the boat set sail – and the party is just getting started. 1. Wait so they took a boat from Boston to… Haiti? Kinda confused, I thought the match was in Haiti or something. Also “Freed from Desire” blasting on a cruise is actually hilarious.

  2. I mean it says it’s a three-hour cruise but then the game’s nine hours after it sets sail, so they’re just partying the whole day? Honestly people will show up hungover and blame “the weather” or something. 200 guys and he’s “worried they have enough beer” like that’s a normal sentence.

  3. This is so random like why Boston?? I guess Scotland fans gonna Scotland fan. Also “Freedom” boat name sounds like a marketing thing, not gonna lie. If they already started drinking before the game then Haiti’s gonna be like… tired? idk.
